I speak of a dominicalμ28.1265 body and a dominical soul and dominical blood and a dominical burial and a whole dominical man by the union of God the Word, so as to be one Lord, the same God and man; and at one time to hear of him as wholly God and Lord, and at another time of him as wholly man. For he himself says concerning himself: "Why do you seek to kill me, a man who has spoken the truth to you?" and Paul: "the man Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever," and having touched this very man, Thomas says: "My Lord and my God," and likewise Paul says: "whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever"; therefore wholly God and man through the union by good pleasure. For if "he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit," much more when the Lord is said and believed to have become man without losing being God, he is the same God and man; God because of his nature, and man because of his participation in humanity by good pleasure.
