A scribe is prevented from following, and the disciple is compelled. He stills the storm of the sea. The demons fall into the swine. Jesus came into his own city; he heals the paralytic; he calls Matthew. The Pharisees complain that he eats with tax collectors, and the disciples of John, that his disciples do not fast. The ruler comes for his little daughter, and he raises the girl; and in the meantime the woman with the issue of blood is healed. Two blind men are healed, and a mute demon-possessed man. Jesus goes around the villages. He sends the disciples to preach, and discusses many things with them. John sends two of his disciples to him, he is praised. Christ reproaches the crowds concerning John. He rebukes the cities. He gives thanks to the Father. He calls those who are burdened. He passes through the grainfields. He heals the one having a withered hand. And the Jews conspire to kill him. When he had withdrawn from there, the crowd follows, and is healed. Likewise also the demon-possessed man who was blind and mute. Then the Jews say, "By Beelzebul he casts out the demons." Then they ask for a sign; but he gave that of Jonah. He foretold that the Ninevites will condemn them. Then he says, "When the unclean spirit goes out, seeking rest." Then his mother seeks to speak with him. Having entered the boat he tells the parable 28.388 of the sower, and the reason for which he speaks in parables. He explains this parable, and adds that of the treasure, that of the pearl, that of the field, that of the mustard seed, and that of the leaven. He explains that of the field in the house, he adds that of the net. He blesses the disciples, comparing them to a householder. He comes into his own country, when the Jews are also offended. Then he says, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country." And having heard the things concerning Herod and John, he withdraws into a deserted place, and feeds the five thousand. He sends the disciples into a boat. He goes up into the mountain to pray. He comes to them as they were sailing by night; he receives Peter on the waters. He comes to Gennesaret. Many are healed. The Pharisees complain about purifications; he silences them, and teaches the crowds about foods. Peter asks about the things said, and Christ explains more clearly. He came to Tyre, and the Canaanite woman comes. From there to the mountain by the sea, and heals many. He feeds the four thousand men. He came to Magdala. The Jews ask for a sign. But he, having left, departed to the other side. The disciples forgot to take bread; he says to them about the leaven of the Pharisees. He goes out to Caesarea. He asks the disciples about himself; Peter confesses him. Then he foretells about the passion, and rebukes Peter, and commands the one wishing to follow to take up the cross. He speaks also about his second coming. He goes up to the mountain, where he was also transfigured. As he was coming down, they ask about Elijah and they learn. The lunatic is brought, and is healed. He rebukes the disciples. He says to them in Galilee about the passion. In Capernaum come those who receive the didrachma. The disciples ask, Who is greater? Then having called a child he says, "Whoever causes one of these little ones to stumble." And, "If your eye, and your hand causes you to stumble;" and the, "Do not despise one of these little ones." Then the parable of the hundred sheep, and the; "If your brother sins against you, rebuke him;" and the; "If two of you agree, whatever they ask, they will receive." Then Peter says, "How often will my brother sin against me?" The parable of the one owing ten thousand talents. He came into Judea. He healed
