παλατίῳ, καὶ ἐν τοῖς προκένσοις, καὶ ἔνθα ἄν ἐστιν ὁ βασιλεύς. πάντως δὲ εἰς ἐκεῖνον τὸν τόπον δεῖ προσενεχθῆναι τὸν κανδιδάτον,
ἔνθα οἱ κανδιδάτοι καὶ ἐξκουβεύουσιν καὶ ἵστανται. καὶ ταῦτα μὲν ἡ συνήθεια. ὁ μέντοι εὐσεβὴς ἡμῶν δεσπότης πολλάκις καὶ ἐν
φερίαις καὶ 393 ἔσω καθήμενος ἐκέλευσεν γενέσθαι πάσας ταύτας τὰς στρατίας καὶ δίχα σιλεντίου. ΚΕΦ. πζʹ. Ὅσα δεῖ παραφυλάττειν,
ἐὰν ὁ ἀναγορευθεὶς ἐν τοῖς ἄνω μέρεσιν βασιλεὺς ἀποστείλῃ πρέσβεις καὶ λαυρεάτα, μηδέπω δεχθεὶς ὑπὸ τοῦ
ἐνταῦθα βασιλέως εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν, καὶ πῶς βεβαιοῖ τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς πρέσβεις ἀπολύει.
Χρὴ, πρεσβευτῶν ἐρχομένων, προμαθεῖν τὸν μάγιστρον καὶ ἑτοιμάσαι τὰ μητάτα αὐτῶν,
