Another letter of his TO THE NICOMEDIANS is extant; in which, attacking the heresy of Marcion, he defends the canon of truth.

And having written to the church sojourning in GORTYNA TOGETHER WITH THE OTHER SOJOURNING COMMUNITIES IN CRETE, he accepts Philip their bishop, since indeed the church under him was testified to for its many deeds of valor; and he reminds them to be on guard against the perversion of the heretics.

And having written to the church sojourning in AMASTRIS TOGETHER WITH THOSE IN PONTUS, he mentions Bacchylides and Elpistus, as having urged him to write; and he has set forth 183 explanations of the divine scriptures; indicating their bishop by the name of Palmas; and he advises the same people on many things concerning marriage and chastity. and he commands that those who are returning from whatever fall, whether of transgression, or indeed of heretical error, are to be received.

Among these another is included, a letter TO THE CNOSSIANS, in which he exhorts Pinytus, bishop of the community, not to impose a heavy burden of necessity on the brethren concerning chastity, but to have regard for the weakness of the many.

- And besides these another letter of Dionysius is extant, having written TO CHRYSOPHORA a most faithful sister. To whom writing suitable things, he imparted to her also the fitting spiritual food.

Ἄλλη δ' ἐπιστολή τις αὐτοῦ ΠΡΟΣ ΝΙΚΟΜΗ∆ΕΑΣ φέρεται· ἐν ᾗ τὴν Μαρκίωνος αἵρεσιν πολεμῶν, τῷ τῆς ἀληθείας παρίσταται κανόνι.

Καὶ τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ δὲ τῇ παροικούσῃ ΓΟΡΤΥΝΑΝ ἉΜΑ ΤΑΙΣ ΛΟΙΠΑΙΣ ΚΑΤΑ ΚΡΗΤΗΝ ΠΑΡΟΙΚΙΑΙΣ ἐπιστείλας, Φίλιππον ἐπίσκοπον αὐτῶν ἀποδέχεται, ἅτε δὴ ἐπὶ πλείσταις μαρτυρουμένης ἀνδραγαθίαις τῆς ὑπ' αὐτὸν ἐκκλησίας· τήν τε τῶν αἱρετικῶν διαστροφὴν ὑπομιμνήσκει φυλάττεσθαι.

Καὶ τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ δὲ τῇ παροικούσῃ ΑΜΑΣΤΡΙΝ ἉΜΑ ΤΑΙΣ ΚΑΤΑ ΠΟΝΤΟΝ ἐπιστείλας, Βακχυλίδου μὲν καὶ Ἐλπίστου, ὡς ἂν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ γράψαι προτρεψάντων μέμνηται· γραφῶν τε θείων 183 ἐξηγήσεις παρατέθειται· ἐπίσκοπον αὐτῶν ὀνόματι Πάλμαν ὑποσημαίνων· πολλὰ δὲ περὶ γάμου καὶ ἁγνείας τοῖς αὐτοῖς παραινεῖ. καὶ τοὺς ἐξ οἵας δ' οὖν ἀποπτώσεως, εἴτε πλημμελείας, εἴτε μὴν αἱρετικῆς πλάνης ἐπιστρέφοντας, δεξιοῦσθαι προστάττει.

Ταύταις ἄλλη ἐγκατείλεκται ΠΡΟΣ ΚΝΩΣΣΙΟΥΣ ἐπιστολὴ, ἐν ᾗ Πινυτὸν τῆς παροικίας ἐπίσκοπον παρακαλεῖ, μὴ βαρὺ φορτίον ἐπάναγκες τὸ περὶ ἁγνείας τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ἐπιτιθέναι, τῆς δὲ τῶν πολλῶν καταστοχάζεσθαι ἀσθενείας.

- Καὶ ἄλλη δέ τις παρὰ ταύτας ἐπιστολὴ τοῦ ∆ιονυσίου φέρεται, ΧΡΥΣΟΦΟΡΑΙ πιστοτάτῃ ἀδελφῇ ἐπιστείλαντος. ᾗ τὰ κατάλληλα γράφων, τῆς προσηκούσης καὶ αὐτῇ μετεδίδου λογικῆς τροφῆς.
