Luke the evangelist, these two happened to be from the seventy, having been scattered at the preaching which the Lord said: If anyone does not eat my flesh and drink my blood, he is not 131 worthy of me. But the one through Peter, and the other through Paul, returning again to the Lord, are deemed worthy to evangelize, for whom they also martyred, the one having been burned, the other having been crucified on an olive tree.

καὶ τὴν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τοῦ λέοντος ἀνιστορίζων εἰκόνα· ἁγία τριὰς ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν σῶσον ἡμᾶς τῇ χάριτί σου. Μάρκος ὁ εὐαγγελιστής, ἐπίσκοπος Ἀλεξανδρέων. Λουκᾶς ὁ εὐαγγελιστής, οὗτοι οἱ δ' ἐκ τῶν οʹ τυγχάνουσιν διασκορπισθέντες ἐπὶ τῷ κηρύγματι ᾧ εἶπεν ὁ κύριος· ἐὰν μή τις οὐ φάγῃ μου τὴν σάρκα καὶ πίῃ μου τὸ αἷμα, οὐκ ἔστι 131 μου ἄξιος. Ἀλλ' ὁ μὲν διὰ Πέτρου, ὁ δὲ διὰ Παύλου πάλιν ἐπανακάμψαντες πρὸς κύριον εὐαγγελίσασθαι καταξιοῦνται ὑπὲρ οὗ καὶ ἐμαρτύρησαν, ὁ μὲν πυρποληθείς, ὁ δὲ σταυρωθεὶς ἐπὶ ἐλαίας.
