10. Thaddaeus, who is also Lebbaeus, his brother, surnamed Judas of James, preached the gospel of the Lord to the Edessenes and all of Mesopotamia and under Abgar, the king of the Edessenes. He died in Berytus and was buried there gloriously.

113 11. Judas the brother of the Lord, after James his own brother and Symeon the cousin of the Lord, leaving him bishop in Jerusalem for 7 years, preached the gospel of Christ in all of Judea and Samaria. He also wrote a catholic epistle, and he formerly had two sons, James and Zoker. He died gloriously in Jerusalem.

11. Simon, surnamed Judas, who also became bishop in Jerusalem after the death of James, under Trajan the emperor, was perfected, being fastened to a cross, in Ostracine of Egypt, having lived 120 years.

12. Matthias, being one of the 70 disciples whom our Lord appointed 114 after the resurrection from the dead, who also was numbered with the eleven apostles in place of Judas Iscariot, preached the gospel of our Lord in outer Ethiopia and there was martyred by the Ethiopians at the harbor of Hyssus.

13. Paul the apostle, after the ascension of the Lord into heaven, began to preach the gospel of the Lord. Beginning from Jerusalem he went forth as far as Illyricum and Italy and Spain, whose letters also are conveyed with wisdom among us. And under Nero, the son of Claudius, the em 115 peror, in the city of Rome he was beheaded, he was martyred on the 5th of Epiphi, the 3rd day before the Kalends of July; and there he was buried near the holy apostle Peter, there they are to this day in Christ. ιβʹ. Ματθίας δὲ εἷς ὢν τῶν οʹ μαθητῶν ὃν ἀνέδειξεν 114 ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν μετὰ τὴν ἀνάδειξιν τὴν ἐκ νεκρῶν, ὃς καὶ συγκατεριτμήθη μετὰ τῶν ἕνδεκα ἀποστόλων ἀντὶ Ἰούδα τοῦ Ἰσκαριότου, ἐκήρυξε τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἐν τῇ ἔξω Αἰθιοπίᾳ καὶ ἐκεῖ ἐμαρτύρησεν ὑπὸ τῶν Αἰθιόπων ἐπὶ Ὕσσου λιμένα.

ιγʹ. Παῦλος δὲ ὁ ἀπόστολος μετὰ τὴν εἰς οὐρανοὺς τοῦ κυρίου ἀνάληψιν ἤρξατο κηρύσσειν τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ κυρίου ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων προῆλθεν ἕως τοῦ Ἰλλυρικοῦ καὶ τῆς Ἰταλίας καὶ Ἱσπανίας, οὗ καὶ ἐπιστολαὶ μετὰ σοφίας παρ' ἡμῖν φέρονται. ιδʹ. Μάρκος ὁ εὐαγγελιστὴς ἦν μὲν Κυρηναῖος τῆς Λιβύης, ἐκήρυξε δὲ τὸ εὐαγγέλιον Ἀλεξανδρεῦσι καὶ πάσῃ τῇ περιχώρῳ αὐτῶν ἕως Πενταπόλεως καὶ ἐν πάσῃ τῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐκδοθὲν ὑπὸ Πέτρου τοῦ ἀποστόλου μετέδωκε τὸ τῆς εὐσε 116 βείας μυστήριον ἐν τῇ μεγαλοπόλει Ἀλεξανδρείᾳ συρθεὶς ἐν σχοινίοις ἐτελεύτησε καὶ τεφρωθεὶς ὑπὸ τῶν εἰδωλομανῶν Ἑλλήνων ἐν τοῖς Βουκόλου τόποις κατετέθη καί ἐστιν ἕως σήμερον, ἐστὶ δὲ ἡ ἡμέρα τῆς κοινήσεως αὐτοῦ Φαρμουθὶ κύριε, ὅ ἐστιν Ἀπρίλλιος.
