he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia. Hail, for you have borne a child, whom a thousand thousands of angels attend, according to Daniel. Hail, for you have borne a child, whom the whole creation of heavenly and earthly things hymns, and glorifies and blesses. Hail, for you have borne a child, whom the many-eyed Cherubim acclaim as God, and the six-winged Seraphim acclaim as Lord. Hail, for you have borne a child in the many-named city of David. Hail, for you have borne a child pre-eternal 96.652 and recent, descended from the springs of Israel. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, the creator of infants, and the sustainer of all things. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, of equal power and glory with the Father. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, as Luke the wonderful proclaims, in the forty-first year of the reign of Augustus Caesar. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake vast multitudes of angels occupied the earth. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake shepherds keeping watch by night in the fields marveled. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake angels sang, saying: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake there is clamor and uproar. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake Herod, raging with anger, is troubled. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake your kinswoman Elizabeth becomes an exile. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake Zechariah the all-great priest is killed between the temple. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake Bethlehem is searched by soldiers. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake sword-bearing executioners are sent. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake newborn and babbling infants are dismembered limb by limb. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, for whose sake Rachel, weeping like a river, sends forth a heavy-sounding lament. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, who on the eighth day was circumcised according to the law of Moses. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, who carved the law on tablets, and was born under the law, and fulfills the law. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, whom at the completion of forty days you brought to the temple of Solomon. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, appearing as a babe, whom the grey-haired priest Simeon, upon seeing, hastened to be released. Hail, for you have brought forth an infant, who was acclaimed as Lord by the prophetess and widow Anna, before all the people. Hail, full of grace, hail through whom appeared to us He who was born before all hills, God, I say, the all-sovereign. Hail, through whom the supramundane appeared to us, who adorned the unadorned world, and created the uncreated creation. Hail, through whom appeared to us, He who, before the mountains were brought forth, and the earth and the world were formed, was begotten of the unbegotten Father. Hail, through whom appeared to us, He who stretched out the heaven like a curtain, and established the dry land upon the abyssal waters. Hail, through whom appeared to us, He who bridled with sand the exceedingly great and world-encompassing, and wondrous to behold sea. Hail, through whom appeared to us, He who with immaculate and uncreated hands formed by hand the first man among men, Adam. Hail, through whom appeared to us, He who said to Abraham, Indeed in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply you. Hail, through whom appeared to us, He who of old through Moses delivered the Israelite people from Egyptian bondage, 96.653 and slew the Pharaonic king in the sea. Hail, through whom appeared to us, He who through the generations was seen both by Patriarchs and prophets, and by all those who are called according to purpose. Hail, through whom appeared to us, He who through the bowels of mercy became man for the sake of man. Hail, through whom appeared to us, the only holy among saints, and the only glorious among the glorified, and the only most high over all the earth. Hail, through whom appeared to us, the only impassible, and the only compassionate, and the only true, and the only-begotten Son of the only God, and God. Rejoice, O Lady Theotokos, through whom is born to us the self-born, and springs forth the self-existent, and grows the perfect one. Rejoice, O
