Let us therefore also weep, let each confess his own offenses, let us take as mediators before God the saints, both the others and especially the most holy Lady, the swift and invincible protection; let us fall down before her, praying with tears: O Lady, Mistress, you who held God the Word in your womb, you who deified our nature by your birth-giving, you who mediated between God and men by your birth-giving, have mercy on your people and your inheritance; have compassion on this your city, which boasts in your name; intercede for us 61.725 your unworthy servants; beseech your only-begotten Son to be long-suffering with our transgressions, and to release this just wrath against us, and to command the clouds to rain down as usual, and to break the drought, and to bedew the heat of the earth.

Yes, Mistress, Mistress, the help of the world, have mercy, nurse the infants, the weary old men, the scorched poor; do not let us perish 61.726 in our sins; we have sinned, we have committed iniquity, we have defiled the pure robe of baptism, we have set aside the Lord's commandments; but even if we slip, we have not stretched out our hands to a strange God, but to your only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who is worshipped and glorified together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages.

∆ακρύσωμεν οὖν καὶ ἡμεῖς, ἐξομολογησώμεθα ἕκαστος τὰ ἴδια πταίσματα, προληψώμεθα πρὸς Θεὸν μεσίτας τοὺς ἁγίους, τούς τε ἄλλους καὶ κατ' ἐξαίρετον τὴν ὑπέραγνον δέσποιναν, τὴν ταχεῖαν προστασίαν καὶ ἄμαχον· προσπέσωμεν αὐτῇ, μετὰ δακρύων δεόμενοι· Κυρία δέσποινα, ἡ τὸν Θεὸν Λόγον ἐν γαστρί σου χωρήσασα, ἡ τὴν φύσιν ἡμῶν τῷ σῷ τόκῳ θεώσασα, ἡ Θεῷ καὶ ἀνθρώποις τῷ τόκῳ σου μεσιτεύσασα, ἐλέησον τὸν λαόν σου καὶ τὴν κληρονομίαν σου· σπλαγχνίσθητι ἐπὶ ταύτῃ τῇ πόλει σου, τῇ ἐν τῷ σῷ καυχωμένῃ ὀνόματι· μεσίτευσον ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν 61.725 τῶν ἀναξίων δούλων σου· δυσώπησον τὸν μονογενῆ σου Υἱὸν ἐπὶ τοῖς ἡμετέροις μακροθυμῆσαι πταίσμασι, καὶ λῦσαι τὴν καθ' ἡμῶν ταύτην δικαίαν ὀργὴν, καὶ ταῖς νεφέλαις ἐπιτάξαι τὸν ὑετὸν ἐπομβρίσαι συνήθως, καὶ τὸν αὐχμὸν διαλῦσαι, καὶ τῆς γῆς δροσίσαι τὸν καύσωνα.

Ναὶ, δέσποινα, δέσποινα, ἡ τοῦ κόσμου ἀντίληψις, ἐλέησον, θήλασσον τὰ νήπια, γέροντας κεκμηκότας, πένητας πεφρυγμένους· μὴ ἐάσῃς ἡμᾶς ἀπολέσθαι 61.726 ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις ἡμῶν· ἡμάρτομεν, ἠνομήσαμεν, τὸν καθαρὸν τοῦ βαπτίσματος χιτῶνα κατεῤῥυπώσαμεν, τὰς δεσποτικὰς ἐντολὰς ἠθετήσαμεν· ἀλλὰ κἂν ὀλισθαίνωμεν, οὐκ ἐπετάσαμεν τὰς χεῖρας ἡμῶν πρὸς Θεὸν ἀλλότριον, ἀλλ' εἰς τὸν μονογενῆ σου Υἱὸν τὸν Κύριον ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν, τὸν σὺν Πατρὶ καὶ ἁγίῳ Πνεύματι προσκυνούμενον καὶ συνδοξαζόμενον, νῦν καὶ ἀεὶ, καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας.
