word"; for he says thus: "For this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." But lest you think that the prophet omitted the Holy Spirit when he said: "Day to day utters speech," learn, beloved, that he confessed the Trinity; for the Father is day; the Son is day; the word is the Spirit flying through the air in the form of a dove. And that the Holy Spirit is a word, let Paul testify: "take the sword of the Holy Spirit, which is the word of God."
9 "Day to day utters speech, and night to night reveals knowledge."
"For cloud and darkness are around him." He is the same Day and the same Night, both God and man; Day according to divinity, Night according to humanity; for in comparison to the divinity, the humanity is night. For this is it: "He made darkness his hiding place." "And the darkness he called Night." "Night to night reveals knowledge." Christ according to humanity, to the night, that is, to all the earth, that is to humanity, reveals the knowledge concerning the Father and himself and the Holy Spirit. To him be glory and power for ever and ever. Amen.
