For this reason it is said that he inhabits the flood. For that he called the remission from baptism a flood, we have also learned from the thirty-first psalm, when it says: Surely in a flood of many waters they will not draw near to him. For the sins of sinners, in the redemption through baptism, will no longer be permitted to draw near. And the Lord will sit as king for ever. Upon all these things, it will be for us to recognize the rule over all things of the Master, who gives strength to his people, so that, having conquered the evil one, we may receive the blessing given by the Lord in peace to those worthy of him; for to him is the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
