Silas and Paul prayed while in prison, and the earth trembled, the doors of the prison were opened, the iron chains of the bonds fell off, and all who were subject to bonds were shown to be free. Peter prayed, and he raised Tabitha from the dead. The same Peter prayed in Rome, and he brought down Simon flying from the air, and no longer permitted him to make a spectacle of himself to the Romans. Prayer raises the dead, puts demons to flight, heals diseases, looses deaths. O prayer, giver of life, repository of health, hope-bearing flower. Pray therefore, you also, beloved, and render to the Lord our God; for to him belongs all glory, unto the ages of ages. Amen.

ἐπαιδαγώγησεν. Ηὔξαντο οἱ τρεῖς παῖδες ἐν τῇ καμίνῳ, καὶ ἡ παφλάζουσα φλὸξ τῆς καμίνου ἐσβέννυτο. Ηὔξατο Ἐζεκίας, καὶ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ἀῤῥωστίαν ἰασάμενος θάνατον ἔλυσε, καὶ πεντεκαιδεκαετῆ χρόνον ζωῆς ἀπελάμβανεν. Ηὔξατο Ἰωνᾶς, καὶ τὸ κῆτος ἡμέρωσε, καὶ ἐν τριημέρῳ φιλοξενεῖν αὐτὸν ἐδίδαξεν, ἵνα δειχθῇ ὅτι τοῖς ἁγίοις καὶ ἐν βυθοῖς θαλάσσης ξενία εὑρίσκεται. Ηὔξατο ὁ εὐσεβέστατος Τωβίας τυφλὸς ὑπάρχων, καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς ἀγγέλου τὸ φέγγος ἐλάμβανεν. Ηὔξατο Σάῤῥα ἡ τοῦ Ῥαγουὴλ ἐν Ἐκβατάνοις, καὶ τὸν ἀνδροκτόνον δαίμονα ἐφυγάδευσεν. Ηὔξαντο Σίλας καὶ Παῦλος ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ ὑπάρχοντες, καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐτρόμαξεν, αἱ θύραι τῆς φυλακῆς ἠνεῴχθησαν, αἱ σιδηραῖ ἁλύσεις τῶν δεσμῶν ἀπέπεσαν, καὶ πάντες οἱ δεσμῶν ἔνοχοι ἐλεύθεροι ἀνεδείκνυντο. Ηὔξατο Πέτρος, καὶ τὴν Ταβιθὰν ἐκ νεκρῶν ἐξανέστησεν. Ηὔξατο ὁ αὐτὸς Πέτρος ἐν Ῥώμῃ, καὶ πετόμενον Σίμωνα ἐξ ἀέρος κατήνεγκε, καὶ ἐμπαίζειν αὐτὸν τοῖς Ῥωμαίοις οὐ συνεχώρησεν οὐκέτι. Εὐχὴ νεκροὺς ἀνεγείρει, δαίμονας φυγαδεύει, νόσους ἰᾶται, θανάτους ἐκλύει. Ὢ εὐχὴ, ζωῆς χορηγὴ, ὑγιείας ἐνθήκη, ἐλπιδοφόρον ἄνθος. Εὔξασθε οὖν καὶ ὑμεῖς, ἀγαπητοὶ, καὶ ἀποδῶτε Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν· ὅτι αὐτῷ πρέπει πᾶσα δόξα, εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων. Ἀμήν.
