For they who hate me have multiplied, and they who repay me evil for good; who even now have not ceased slandering me, since I pursue the good and saving way, being envied for my salvation. For this reason I supplicate and pray, do not forsake me, Lord; for alone against so many I would not be able to hold out. You, therefore, my God, do not depart from me, but be present to me as a helper, and a guardian of my salvation.

Ἐπληθύνθησαν γὰρ οἱ μισοῦντές με, καὶ οἱ ἀνταποδιδόντες μοι κακὰ ἀντὶ ἀγαθῶν· οἵτινες οὔπω καὶ νῦν παύονται ἐνδιαβάλλοντές με, ἐπεὶ τὴν ἀγαθὴν καὶ σωτήριον ὁδὸν μεταδιώκω, διαφθονούμενοί μου τῇ σωτηρίᾳ. Τούτου χάριν ἱκετεύω καὶ δέομαι, μὴ ἐγκαταλίπῃς με, Κύριε· μόνος γὰρ πρὸς τοσούτους οὐχ οἷός τ' ἂν εἴην ἀντέχειν. Σὺ οὖν, ὁ Θεός μου, μὴ ἀποστῇς ἀπ' ἐμοῦ, πάρεσο δέ μοι βοηθὸς, καὶ φύλαξ τῆς ἐμῆς σωτηρίας.
