to him, so that he became worthy even of being laid up in the Holy of Holies in the tent of testimony. That there is a vision for all the multitude. For prophecy has ceased after the advent of the Savior. And it is well said, "For all the multitude"; since a remnant according to the election of grace has come into being. And a man in the eyes of his life. If one is holy, he will hold to what he must hold, and he will prevail by nothing other than the eye of his own life, which is the mind, in which we see the life in the truth, and we overcome all who wrestle against us. Blow the trumpet. We have discussed the trumpet at greater length when examining the passage, "For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed"; and so that we do not repeat ourselves, we will not spend more time on this topic; but only for the sake of reminder must it be said that, if it is a greater thing to judge all things than to judge the twelve tribes of Israel, or to judge the angels, or to judge the world as stated in: "You will sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel," and in: "We shall judge angels"; and in: "The world is judged by you"; one must strive to judge all things by blowing the trumpet. Therefore, one must seek the trumpet of God and the great, inciting voice of God for the soldiers of God in the struggle against the enemies, such as the apostles likely used, so greatly stirring up spirits by the voice of the trumpet for the struggle against the enemies. And since also in the feasts of God, as we have cited in other places, trumpets are used, and 13.793 these must be taken up, so that through them we may exhort the pure and true Israelites to celebrate the feasts of the Lord. Therefore let each of us hear: "With a trumpet lift up your voice"; and: "Blow the trumpet at the new moon, on the appointed day of your feast." But let us not sound the trumpet before ourselves, as the hypocrites do; for it says, "Do not sound a trumpet before yourself"; but before God, according to his spiritual law, having made for ourselves rational, beaten silver trumpets with a disposition effective for divine sounds and words teaching us to war and to feast, so that we may thus be able to judge all things. And on every head baldness. Perhaps such a phrase is a symbol of mourning for sins. For just as there are those who make a bald spot for the dead, so those who are ashamed of their own failings, having put away the adornment of their spiritual head and shaved themselves, wear upon it the sign of mourning. But to the saints who have nothing in common with enemies, the law legislated not to make a bald spot for the dead, because, it says, "you are holy to the Lord your God." And they will enter upon them unguardedly. One must consider the holy things to be defiled by those who defile the episcopate and enter unguardedly upon such things. For instance, it must be said that one enters unguardedly into the holy things of the church, if after intercourse, being indifferent to the impurity in him, he should give himself to pray over the bread of the Eucharist. For such a one profanes the holy things and causes a mixture. Woe upon woe. First, woe in this life, for the very reason that one is wicked, and impious, and does not have the oversight of God; and second, woe according to the punishments after this life. And there will be message upon message, perhaps the evangelical proclamation, after the prophets who threatened many things concerning eternal punishment, clearly setting forth the things concerning Gehenna and the other unending torments. And a vision will be sought. When, encountering the prophetic words and the lawful mysteries, we do not see what the visions of the prophets are and what the will of the law is, because even those who boast in the priesthood of God not only transgress the law, but also destroy the true mind of the law, then will be fulfilled "A vision will be sought from a prophet." But one must press on to find the sought-after vision from the prophet. And if the law was ever lost from a priest, the priest seeks how to find the law both by understanding and doing, so that he may also lead others to the
