Therefore, O Romans, we fall short of the fine things of old, but rather we have met with these better and more honorable things, having passed from prosperity to a greater prosperity.

οὖν, ὦ Ῥωμαῖοι, καλῶν τῶν πάλαι λειπόμεθα, μᾶλλον δέ γε κρείττοσι καὶ τιμιωτέροις τούτοις ἐντετυχήκαμεν, ἀπ' εὐπραγίας εἰς εὐπραγίαν μείζω μεταπηδήσαντες.
