But he spoke not knowing what he said nor understanding the economy of the matter; for he was urging his hearers to the plot against the Lord, but from another perspective the matter of the Father was being accomplished, who gave himself as a ransom for all and died not only for the people, but also for all the believing nations. And the evangelist explains this in the following verses.
