God in judgment. And remove anger from your heart. 12 And remember your creator, until the sun and the light and the moon and the stars are not darkened, and the clouds return after the rain. Just as rain that has come down does not go up, so neither do the clouds for the one who has died. In the day in which the guards of the house shall be shaken and the men of might shall be bent, <and the grinding women ceased because they were few>. All things fail.

Especially so it will also be then, just as <when> from idleness the grinding women do not labor, on account of there being no people; the city will be destroyed. And those who look through the openings will be darkened. Or it says this, that those who see sharply will then be darkened; not the seeing, the discerning souls. And they will shut the doors in the marketplace, and he will rise up at the voice of a bird. That is, sparrows will build nests; it speaks of desolation. And the almond tree will blossom. It speaks either of desolation, or, just as this fruit, having blossomed, withers again, so also does man. And the pitcher be shattered at the spring, <and the wheel run down into the pit>. Just as this, being diminished, no longer provides water, and the wheel, having fallen into the pit, no longer runs, so also is man when he has died. And the spirit will return to God. For the dust will return to the earth, as it was, and the spirit will return to God, who gave it. He therefore will receive the spirit itself, not only the dust.

ὁ θεὸς ἐν κρίσει. Καὶ ἀπόστησον θυμὸν ἀπὸ καρδίας σου. 12 Καὶ μνήσθητι τοῦ κτίσαντός σε, ἕως οὗ μὴ σκοτισθῇ ὁ ἥλιος καὶ τὸ φῶς καὶ ἡ σελήνη καὶ οἱ ἀστέρες, καὶ ἐπιστρέψουσι τὰ νέφη ὀπίσω τοῦ ὑετοῦ. Ὥσπερ ὑετὸς κατελθὼν οὐκ ἄνεισιν, οὕτως οὐδὲ τὰ νέφη τῷ τελευτήσαντι. Ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἂν σαλευθῶσιν φύλακες οἰκίας καὶ διαστραφῶσιν ἄνδρες τῆς δυνάμεως, <καὶ ἤργησαν αἱ ἀλήθουσαι ὅτι ὠλιγώθησαν>. Πάντα προδιδόασιν.

Μάλιστα οὕτω καὶ τότε ἔσται, ὥσπερ <ὅτε> ἐξ ἀργίας αἱ ἀλήθουσαι οὐ κάμνουσι, παρὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι ἀνθρώπους· ἀπολεῖται ἡ πόλις. Καὶ σκοτάσουσιν αἱ βλέπουσαι ἐν ταῖς ὀπαῖς. Ἢ τοῦτό φησιν, ὅτι οἱ ὀξὺ βλέποντες τότε σκοτωθήσονται· οὐχὶ αἱ βλέπουσαι αἱ ψυχαὶ αἱ διορατικαί. Καὶ κλείσουσιν θύρας ἐν ἀγορᾷ, καὶ ἀναστήσεται εἰς φωνὴν στρουθίου. Τουτέστιν, στρουθοὶ ἐννοσσεύσουσιν· τὴν ἐρημίαν λέγει. Καὶ ἀνθήσει τὸ ἀμύγδαλον. Ἢ ἐρημίαν φησίν, ἤ, ὥσπερ ὁ καρπὸς οὗτος ἀνθήσας πάλιν μαραίνεται, οὕτω καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος. Καὶ συντριβῇ ἡ ὑδρία ἐπὶ τὴν πηγήν, <καὶ συντροχάσῃ ὁ τροχὸς ἐπὶ τὸν λάκκον>. Ὥσπερ αὕτη ἐλαττωθεῖσα οὐκέτι παρέξει ὕδωρ καὶ ὁ τροχὸς δὲ ἐμπεσὼν ἐπὶ τὸν βόθρον οὐκέτι τρέχει, οὕτω καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἀποθανών. Καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα ἐπιστρέψει πρὸς τὸν θεόν. Ἐπιστρέψῃ γὰρ ὁ χοῦς ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν, ὡς ἦν, καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα ἐπιστρέψῃ πρὸς τὸν θεόν, ὃς ἔδωκεν αὐτό. Αὐτὸς οὖν αὐτὸ λήμψεται τὸ πνεῦμα, οὐχὶ τὸν χοῦν μόνον.
