For each of his works, having been fashioned in various ways, partakes of his wisdom, and all-wisely partakes of his creative power; but distinctly and exceptionally his holy ones render the greater part of the confession; for through what they think and do, they will speak of his kingdom, showing by way of a foretaste, as ones who have served him, that there is a glory of his kingdom; and they will speak of a power connatural with the kingdom, as each of the created things has been orderly subjected to him; being philanthropic, those who lay claim to holiness toward you and from you, abundantly share the good things they have with the sons of men in a teaching manner; for Christ is the teacher and guide only of those who have ascended beyond human life, while those who are still sons of men become teachers under those who have been taught by Christ; For instance, Paul, who received and was taught the Gospel not from men, nor through men, but through the revelation of Jesus Christ, is a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth; Indeed, the Savior himself sends out the apostles to make disciples of all nations, having first taught them not to call anyone teacher on earth; therefore, what the holy ones learn from him, they make known to the sons of men. The Lord is faithful in his words. But God is said to be faithful not as one who partakes of faith, but as one who is trustworthy; for all that he says comes to be; according to that, He himself said: Will he not do it and will he not abide by it? And he also says this: Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. And he is holy, as one who imparts holiness to his works; just as he is also hallowed among those who partake of his holiness; and the Savior is wisdom among those who are wise according to him. You give them their food in due season. And Eusebius also says that God is not only a physician of the fallen, and a healer of the 24.61 broken, but also the nourisher of all; for which reason the eyes of all creatures, both rational and irrational, look up to him, and with all looking to him through certain natural and taught impulses, he, like a good father, provides different foods at different times as is suitable, extending to all his creative hand, that is, his power, abundantly and unhindered he fills every living thing with the enjoyment of the things gifted by him. The Lord is near to all who call upon him in truth. Then, since it is given to few to be able to call upon him with knowledge, and to be deemed worthy of his hearing, he necessarily adds, repeating the thought, and says that he is present not to all who call upon him, but only to those who do this in truth; for from such as these he is far removed; to whom he also says: Your sins separate you and me; and about these it has been said elsewhere: For those who distance themselves from you will perish. He is near to all, then, by providence, but by relation to those who call with knowledge; for this is what "in truth" means. -And after the common providence, he has added a special one concerning the faithful, to be near to such, and to provide for them more greatly. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name. For the time being, I will not cease praising God. And I pray that the prophecy that says may come to pass more quickly: I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and: Let every breath praise the Lord; and this will be when the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, when also every race of men will be saved; and "mouth" means the intelligible, about which also elsewhere: All flesh will be blessing the name of the Lord, clearly for ever and for ever and ever, seeing the salvation of God, and not being as grass.
