of the All-Holy Spirit in all the saints, and you will shine, the unapproachable sun, in their midst and all will be illumined according to the proportion 145 of their faith, practice, hope and love, of purification and illumination from your Spirit, O God, O sole long-suffering one and judge of all, for whom different mansions and places will be reckoned, the measures of splendor, the measures of love, 150 and of your contemplation, how great again will be its majesty's glory, delight and fame in divisions of wondrous houses and mansions. This means different tabernacles, this means many houses, this means most splendid robes of many dignities 155 and crowns of all kinds, stones and pearls and unfading flowers having a strange appearance; this also means couches and beds and tables and thrones and everything which exists for the sweetest delight, which was and is and will be to see you alone. 160 Therefore, those who, as has been said, do not see your light, not being seen by you, but separated from your all-good vision, are deprived of good things. Where might they find rest, where a painless place? In what will they dwell, not having become upright? 165 For with your face the upright will dwell; for you have been formed in their upright heart and they dwell with your form in you, my Christ. O wonder, O paradoxical gift of goodness! That men should come to be in the form of God 170 and that the one uncontainable by all should be formed in them, the unchangeable God, the one immutable by nature, who wishes to dwell in all the worthy, (43) so that each might have the whole king within, both the kingdom itself and the things of the kingdom 175 and shine, just as my God shone when he rose, beyond the rays of this visible sun, and thus standing beside the one who glorified them, they remain astounded by the excess of glory and by the continual addition of divine splendor; 180 for there will be no end of progress for ages, for a cessation of the increase of the unending end would bring about a comprehension of the utterly incomprehensible, and the insatiable one will become wearisome to all.
