Abraham, after Sarah died, married Keturah, and had six sons by her: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, Shuah. And from these were born sons: of Shuah, Sabacanes and Dadanes, and from him, Latousimos, and Asouros, and Louobos; and of Madam, Etha, Thophres, Amochos, Ebidos, Eldos. And for all these Abraham devised from the womb, who seized Troglodytis, and the parts of Arabia Felix, and as much as extends to the Red Sea. And from Asour, Assyria was named; and Sophren, having campaigned against Libya, seized it, and his descendants, that is, his grandsons inhabiting it, called the country Africa from his name, who fought alongside Heracles when he campaigned against Antaeus the earth-born. And Heracles married the daughter of Ouaphres, by whom he had a son, Bodoros, who begat a son, Sophonas, from whom they call the barbarians Sophonians. And Abraham, having lived 175 years, died. Jacob, having snatched the blessing of Esau, came into Mesopotamia to Laban the brother of his mother, and having served him for 14 years married his two daughters, Leah and Rachel, for whom he had a greater desire. And he desired her not being overcome by her beauty, (since as it is written, Rachel was beautiful in form, and very lovely in appearance;) but because, having seen her first, as one who had met him by divine providence, he both greeted and loved her, knowing that this wonder had also happened in the case of his mother Rebecca, when, after the servant of Abraham had prayed, things met him according to his prayers, and the things that had been prearranged for him were fulfilled in deeds. And six sons are born to him by Leah: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun; and by Rachel, Joseph and Benjamin; and by Rachel's handmaid, Bilhah, Dan and Naphtali; and by Leah's handmaid named Zilpah, Gad and Asher. And the race of the Syrians comes from Esau, who were also called Idumaeans, Esau having previously been surnamed Idumaeus, because he desired the red pottage; for the Hebrews call what is red "Iduma." But later they were renamed Syrians, after one named Syrus who ruled their nation. And Esau takes three wives from the Canaanites for marriage: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah the Hivite, and Basemath the daughter of Ishmael, and sister of Nebaioth. And by Adah, Eliphaz; and by Basemath, Reuel; and by Oholibamah he begat Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah. Having had these in the land of the Canaanites, he moved to Mount Seir, because he was not able to dwell together with his brother Jacob who had returned from 768 Mesopotamia because of the multitude of their possessions. Therefore having had a son there also, he named him Edom from his own surname. And his sons also had legitimate sons: Eliphaz had five, Teman, Omar, Zophar, Gomoth, Kenaz, among whom was also an illegitimate son, born to him, Amalek, by a concubine named Timna; and to Reuel also four sons were born, Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, Mizzah; and Edom eleven: Thamma, Gola, Iothom, Ailibaiman, Ielas, Phinon, Kenux, Theman, Mazariei, Maediel, Zephonen. And to Seir the Horite who inhabited the land of Lotan five sons were born: Shobal, Sepegon, Anadeson, Asher, Rheson; and to Lotan two, Hori, and Eman. And Timna happened to be the sister of Lotan, who bore Amalek to Eliphaz. And Shobal the son of Seir had five sons: Odomnan, Nahath, Gebeel, Soph, Omnan; and Zibeon two, Aides and Ainan, this is the one who found the hot springs in the desert while pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon. And Anah begat Dishon and a daughter Oholibamah; and Dishon had Amadan, and Asban, and Gethran, and Charran. And Asher the fourth son of Seir,
