a ship bringing him gold. The account of the queen of the South, who came to hear his wisdom. The account of his great wealth, concerning the golden armor which he made, concerning his kingdom, from where and to where it extended. Then, concerning his idolatry, and the offense with which he offended God. Then, a threat against him, and the dissolution of the kingdom, the disappearance of peace. For Hadad the Edomite rises up against him, and Esdrom. His servant Jeroboam also rises up against him. Ahijah the prophet comes to Jeroboam, and gives him a garment torn into ten pieces, signifying to him that he would hold the ten scepters. And when Solomon wanted to kill him, he fled to Egypt. Jeroboam returned from Egypt after Solomon died. The people, approaching Rehoboam the son of Solomon, demanded that his rule be lighter for them than Solomon's. But he, persuaded by some of his young companions, threatened to make it even heavier for them. Thence the ten tribes were rent away, and they made Jeroboam king over themselves. And God prevented Rehoboam when he wanted to make war against him. And when the child of Jeroboam fell ill, he sends his wife to Ahijah the prophet to inquire about the sickness. And he said that he would die, and he died. Jeroboam sets up golden calves, one in Bethel, and one in Dan, so that the people would not go up to Jerusalem. And as he 56.350 was sacrificing there, behold, a man of God came, prophesying the things concerning Josiah. And the king's hand was withered, and the altar was rent. And when the prophet of God prayed, the king was healed. And he urged the prophet to dine with him. But he did not consent, keeping God's command, which he later transgressed, and was killed by a lion. But Jeroboam still persisted in his wickedness, and Rehoboam practiced idolatry all the years of his reign. Shishak came and took the treasures. After him, his son Abijah reigned, and after him, the son of Abijah, Asa. And after Jeroboam, his son Nadab reigned; whom Baasha killed and reigned, and he warred against Asa. But he, using the alliance of Hadad the Syrian, became more powerful. And as Baasha was wicked, God threatens great evils against him. And when he died, his son Elah reigned, whom Zimri, one of the commanders, killed and reigned, and he destroyed the house of Baasha. And when Zimri also died, having burned himself, Omri reigned. And when he also died, Ahab his son reigned. Jehoshaphat, the son of Asa, reigns. Elijah the prophet threatens Ahab with the drought that occurred for three years and six months. Then the prophet is fed by the ravens. Here are the things concerning the widow in Zarephath, concerning the jar of oil, and the pot of meal, and the death of the child, and his raising from the dead. Elijah is sent to Ahab, and he makes the sacrifice, and brings down fire from heaven, and it consumes it. Then taking the priests of Baal, he slaughtered them. Then he announces the good news of rain to Ahab. And having gone up to Carmel, Elijah prayed, and makes the sacrifice; behold, rain. Jezebel the wife of Ahab threatens Elijah with death, but he comes into the wilderness, and having slept, and been awakened by an angel of God, he found a cake of spelt, and having eaten it, was strengthened. In the strength of that food he went forty days to Horeb. Then he says: Lord, they have torn down your altars. Leaving the yoke of oxen, Elisha follows Elijah. Then the story concerning the vineyard of Naboth; and the threat against Jezebel and Ahab, and the contrition of Ahab. Hadad the Syrian came against Israel with thirty-two kings; but he defeated them. And campaigning a second time, he fell to a great blow. And when he saw himself in danger, putting on a pitiful appearance, he comes to Ahab, calling himself a servant, and being well-disposed
