It is the property of God alone to do all things that he wills. Therefore, the end signifies the separation of the soul from the body. 398 Jo 19, 31 And this request was most cruel; for because that day was a great day, they were hastening that they might die before the sabbath. 399 Jo 19, 33-37 Since they found Jesus had expired, one pierced his side and there came out blood, through which the redemption of all came to be, and water, through which sanctification came to be.
