“For seventy kings, the tips of their feet and of their hands having been cut off, were under my table gathering the things that fell.” Therefore, having been brought to Jerusalem, he immediately died. And to the tribe of Ephraim the land of the Amorites, and Perizzites, and Samaritans; and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the land of the Gersaians and Amorites Jesus assigned; and the land of the Hebrews, and Amorites, and Jebusites he gave as an inheritance to Benjamin; and to Simeon the land of the Hebrews and Perizzites; and to Zebulun the land of the Perizzites; and the land of the Kenites to Naphtali; and to the tribe of Dan the land of the Amorites; and to the tribe of Issachar, and to the tribe of Asher the land of the Perizzites. Jesus, having distributed all this land, and having lived 110 years, died, and when Eleazar the son of Aaron died, Phinehas his son succeeded to the high priesthood. And after the death of Jesus son of Nave, the Israelites, having departed from God, served Astarte and God delivered them into the hands of Chusarthan the king of Syria, who brought them into great distress, so that having been worn down for a long time, they cried out to God, and judges were given to them.

Ἑβδομήκοντα γὰρ βασιλεῖς, τὰ ἄκρα τῶν ποδῶν αὐτῶν καὶ τῶν χειρῶν ἐκκεκομμένοι, ὑποκάτω ἦσαν τῆς τραπέζης μου τὰ ἐμπίπτοντα ἀναλέγοντες.» Κομισθεὶς οὖν εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ παραυτίκα ἀπέθανε. Τῇ δὲ φυλῇ Ἐφραῒμ τὴν τῶν Ἀμοῤῥαίων, καὶ Φερεζαίων, καὶ Σαμαραίων· καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασσῆ τὴν τῶν Γερσαίων, καὶ Ἀμοῤῥαίων γῆν ἀπένειμεν Ἰησοῦς· τὴν δὲ τῶν Ἑβραίων, καὶ Ἀμοῤῥαίων, καὶ Ἰεβουσαίων τῇ τοῦ Βενιαμὶν ἐκληροδότησε· τῇ δὲ τοῦ Συμεὼν τὴν τῶν Ἑβραίων καὶ Φερεζαίων· καὶ τῇ τοῦ Ζαβουλὼν τὴν τῶν Φερεζαίων· τὴν δὲ τῶν Κιναίων τῇ Νεφθαλείμ· καὶ τῇ φυλῇ τοῦ ∆ὰν τὴν Ἀμοῤῥαίων· τῇ δὲ φυλῇ Ἰσσάχαρ, καὶ τῇ φυλῇ Ἀσὴρ τὴν τῶν Φερεζαίων. Ταύτην πᾶσαν διανείμας τὴν γῆν Ἰησοῦς ρʹ καὶ ιʹ βιώσας ἔτη, ἀπέθανεν, Ἐλεαζάρου δὲ τοῦ υἱοῦ Ἀαρὼν τελευτήσαντος τὴν ἀρχιερωσύνην Φινὲς ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ διεδέξατο. Μετὰ δὲ τὴν τελευτὴν Ἰησοῦ Ναυῆ οἱ Ἰσραηλῖται, ἀποστάντες τοῦ Θεοῦ, τῇ Ἀστάρτῃ ἐλάτρευσαν καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς ὑποχειρίους ὁ Θεὸς Χουσαρθὰν τῷ Σύρων βασιλεῖ, ὅστις εἰς πολλὴν συνοχὴν αὐτοὺς κατέστησεν, ὡς ἐπὶ πολὺ καταπονηθέντας αὐτοὺς βοῆσαι πρὸς τὸν Θεὸν, καὶ δοθῆναι αὐτοῖς κριτάς.
