3-8}3This is not contrary to Luke and that Peter alone went away to the tomb; for when, after seeing the linen cloths, he went away, later came the women with Joanna, saying, that the Lord has risen, and Peter ran alone again to the tomb
hoping perhaps he too might see some vision. 612 {3Jο , 5-9}3This was a sign of the resurrection; for if he had been stolen by enemies, they would not have left the clothes for profit, but if they were friends, they would not have endured to outrage the body naked; for if the disciples had seized him, they would have fled because of the guarding soldiers and Jews and would not have stood stripping the body and placing the linen cloths by themselves, and the face cloth by itself. And it shows that there was no longer need of clothes for the body that had passed over into incorruptibility. They did not see him risen, but from the collection of the clothes they understand the resurrection and they believe this, as the holy scripture proclaims. When the angel appeared, the terrified guards fled and for this reason those with Peter came to the
tomb without fear. 613 {3Jο , 8-9}3They understood and believed the word of the resurrection, which they formerly did not know. Before the experience, the disciples did not know the word about the resurrection.

By providence she turned and saw the Lord, but did not recognize him, so that she might not be disturbed as if seeing a demonic phantasm; for she still suspected that he was dead. 619 {3Jο , 15}3Overwhelmed by grief, she still doubted concerning the resurrection. 6 {3Jο , 16}3With a certain manner the Lord names her, so that in this way she might come to realize that he both had risen and was present. 621 {3Jο , 17}3Since, as far as you are concerned, I am not God, but a mere man about to be with men again according to the way of life before the passion, and you do not think that I will be with the Father, do not touch me. 622 {3Jο , 17}3To her, as being more affectionate, he grants the boast of the good news, as she returned more than the others to the tomb and went about the tomb. 623 {3Jο , 17}3Since according to the substance of the flesh the Son became our brother, as being God by nature, the Son of the Father calls God his Father; but as a man like us, he names God his own God. 624 {3Jο , 19}3Since, having entered though the doors were closed, he caused the disciples to doubt, lest perhaps what appeared was not a body, but only a type, Luke, clarifying the meaning, said: "Touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones" and he ate and showed the wounds of his flesh. 625 {3Jο , 19}3Through this he showed the power of his divinity. He did not appear during the day, so that all might be gathered together, on the day he spoke with Mary, he appeared also to the disciples with a power befitting God, and with the doors closed, appearing to them paradoxically and unexpectedly; for he was God, even if the body was solid
