Ὑπομιμνήσκει ὁ τῆς καταστάσεως τῷ πραιποσίτῳ, εἰ ἄ 523 ρα κελεύει ὁ βασιλεὺς στῆναι προέλευσιν. ὁ δὲ πραιπόσιτος λέγει τῷ κατὰ τὴν ἡμέραν παραδυναστεύοντι. ὁ δὲ ὑπομιμνήσκει τὸν βασιλέα, καὶ εἰ κελεύει ὁ βασιλεὺς στῆναι τὴν προέλευσιν, ἐξέρχεται ὁ πραιπόσιτος καὶ ὁρίζει τὸν τῆς καταστάσεως περὶ τούτου. καὶ μετὰ τὸ ἀπολῦσαι τὴν θείαν λειτουργίαν ἐν τῷ λαυσιακῷ, ὅσους πρωτοσπαθαρίους κλητωρεύσει ὁ κατὰ τὴν ἡμέραν κλητωρεύων ἀρτοκλίνης, εἰσέρχονται καὶ καθέζονται ἐν τῷ λαυσιακῷ· οἱ δὲ λοιποὶ καθέζονται ἐν τῷ Ἰουστινιανοῦ. ἐξέρχεται δὲ σιλεντιάριος ἐν τῷ Ἰουστινιανοῦ τρικλίνῳ, καὶ λέγει μεγάλως "κελεύσατε," καὶ ἐξέρχονται πάντες οἱ βασιλικοὶ, καὶ ἀπέρχονται ἕκαστος εἰς τὰ ἴδια. οἱ δὲ μάγιστροι καὶ πατρίκιοι καὶ ὀφφικιάλιοι καθέζονται εἰς τὰ σκύλα ἅμα τοῦ δρουγγαρίου τῆς βίγλης, ὁ δὲ ἀκόλουθος ἵσταται ἀποβλέπων πρὸς τὴν πύλην τοῦ Ἰουστινιανοῦ τρικλίνου, ἐν ᾧ κρέμαται τὸ ταγηνάριον βῆλον, εἰ ἄρα συνέφθασεν ὁ τῆς καταστάσεως ἅμα τῶν σιλεντιαρίων τοῦ στῆναι ἔξω τοῦ αὐτοῦ βήλου κονσιστώριον. ὁ δὲ τῆς καταστάσεως μετὰ τοῦ ὀστιαρίου, φοροῦντες καμίσιον καὶ παραγαύδιον, προσκυνοῦσιν ἀμφότεροι τῷ πραιποσίτῳ, καὶ ὁ μὲν ὀστιάριος μετὰ τὸ εἰσελθεῖν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ταγηναρίῳ βήλῳ ἵσταται ἔνδοθεν, δεικνύων τὴν κεφαλὴν αὑτοῦ πρὸς τὸν δρουγγάριον τῆς βίγλης. ὁ δὲ τῆς καταστάσεως καὶ ὁ σιλεντιάριος 524 ἵστανται, καθὼς ἔχει ὁ τύπος, νεύοντες τῷ ἀκολούθῳ τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν. ὁ δὲ δρουγγάριος εἰσέρχεται φορῶν τὸ ἑαυτοῦ σπαθίον, καὶ τῇ δεξιᾷ χειρὶ κρατῶν τό,τε μαγλάβιον καὶ τὸ τζικούριον ἐπικείμενον τῷ δεξιῷ αὐτοῦ ὤμῳ. ἡνίκα δὲ ἔλθῃ ἐν τῷ μεγάλῳ τρικλίνῳ τοῦ Ἰουστινιανοῦ, προσκυνεῖ εἰς ἓν ἕκαστον τῶν μεγάλων ὀμφαλίων τόν τε τῆς καταστάσεως καὶ τοὺς σιλεντιαρίους, καὶ ἵσταται ἄνω ἀποβλέπων πρὸς τὸ δυτικὸν μέρος, ἤγουν πρὸς τὰ σκύλα, καὶ παραυτίκα λαμβάνει νεῦμα ὁ ἀκόλουθος καὶ λέγει τοῖς μαγίστροις "κελεύσατε·" οἱ μάγιστροι καὶ πατρίκιοι, προσκυνοῦντες τόν τε δρουγγάριον καὶ τὸν τῆς καταστάσεως ἅμα τῶν σιλεντιαρίων καὶ καθέζονται εἰς τὰ σκάμνα. καὶ πάλιν λαμβάνει νεῦμα ὁ ἀκόλουθος παρὰ τοῦ τῆς καταστάσεως, καὶ λέγει "κελεύσατε, σεκρετικοί." καὶ εἰσέρχονται οἱ χαρτουλάριοι τοῦ γενικοῦ καὶ τοῦ στρατιωτικοῦ καὶ οἱ ἀντιγραφεῖς, φοροῦντες σαγία ῥοῆς, προσκυνοῦντες καὶ αὐτοὶ κάτω ἐν τῷ τυμπανέῳ τοῦ Ἰουστινιανοῦ, καὶ καθέζονται καὶ αὐτοὶ εἰς τὰ σκάμνα. καὶ πάλιν λαμβάνει νεῦμα ὁ ἀκόλουθος παρὰ τοῦ τῆς καταστάσεως, καὶ προσκαλεῖται τοὺς δʹ τῶν ταγμάτων τοποτηρητὰς, χαρτουλαρίους, κόμητας τῶν σχολῶν, σκρίβωνάς τε καὶ λοιποὺς μεγάλους ἄρχοντας, καὶ τῶν νουμέρων καὶ τειχέων. χρὴ δὲ εἰδέναι, ὅτι, τῶν δʹ ταγμάτων ἐν τῇ πόλει μὴ ὄντων, 525 προσκαλεῖται τοὺς τοποτηρητὰς καὶ χαρτουλαρίους τῶν νουμέρων καὶ τειχέων καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας τοῦ ἀριθμοῦ, καὶ εἰσέρχονται ἀπὸ σκαραμαγγίων, φοροῦντες τὰ ἑαυτῶν σπαθία, καὶ ἵστανται ἐπ' εὖρος τοῦ αὐτοῦ τρικλίνου, καὶ τὰς χεῖρας δεδεμένας ἔχοντες καὶ σιωπῇ χρώμενοι. καὶ ὅτε πάντα ταῦτα τελεσθῶσιν, ἐξέρχεται ὁ ἀρτοκλίνης φορῶν σπαθίον μετὰ τοῦ τῆς καταστάσεως καὶ τοῦ ὀστιαρίου, καὶ ἔρχονται ἀμφότεροι εἰς τὸν πραιπόσιτον, ὑπομιμνήσκοντες αὐτῷ τοῦ γενέσθαι μίνσαι. ὁ δὲ αὐτὸς ἀρτοκλίνης μέλλων ἐξέρχεσθαι, προσκυνεῖ τὸν δρουγγάριον τῆς βίγλης, εἶτα κράζει ἐν τῷ τοῦ κλητωρίου τομαρίῳ κατ' ὄνομα οὓς ὀφείλει
