And Jesus Christ also, because the Jews did not know who is the Father and who is the Son, similarly reproving them, He Himself said: 'No one knows the Father except the Son, nor the Son except the Father and those to whom the Son may reveal Him.' Now the Word of God is His Son, as we have said before. And He is called both Angel and Apostle; for He Himself announces what must be known, and is sent forth to declare what is announced, as our Lord Himself also said: 'He who hears me, hears Him who sent me.' And from the writings of Moses this will be made clear. For it is spoken in them thus: 'And the Angel of God spoke to Moses in a flame of fire from the bush and said: I am the one who is, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob, the God of your fathers. Go down into Egypt and lead out my people.' But the things that follow you can learn from them, if you wish; for it is not possible to write everything in these. But these words have been spoken for proof that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Apostle, being formerly the Word, and having at one time appeared in the form of fire, and at another in a bodiless image; but now by the will of God for the sake of the human race having become man, endured
