in their deeds, will die by death. But those who have given their rods green and having cracks, these were always faithful and good, but having a certain jealousy among one another concerning pre-eminence and concerning a certain glory; but all these are foolish, having jealousy among one another concerning pre-eminence. But these also, having heard my commandments, being good, cleansed themselves and repented quickly. Therefore their dwelling came to be in the tower; but if any of them turns again to dissension, he will be cast out of the tower and will lose his life. Life belongs to all who keep the commandments of the Lord; but in the commandments there is nothing about pre-eminence or about glory, but about longsuffering and about a man's humility. In such people, therefore, is the life of the Lord, but in the dissenters and lawless, death. And those who have given their rods half green, half dry, these are they who are entangled in their business affairs and do not cleave to the saints. For this reason half of them is alive and half is dead. Many therefore, having heard my commandments, repented. As many therefore as repented, their dwelling is in the tower. But some of them fell away completely. These therefore have no repentance; for because of their business affairs they blasphemed the Lord and denied him. Therefore they lost their life because of the wickedness which they did. But many of them were double-minded. These still have repentance, if they repent quickly, and their dwelling will be in the tower; but if they repent more slowly, they will dwell in the walls; but if they do not repent, they too have lost their life. And those who have given two parts green, but the third dry, these are they who have denied with various denials. Many therefore of them repented, and went to dwell in the tower; but many fell away completely from God; these lost their life completely. But some of them were double-minded and caused divisions; for these, therefore, there is still repentance, if they repent quickly and do not remain in their pleasures; but if they remain in their deeds, they too work death for themselves. And those who have given their rods two parts dry, but the third green, these are they who became faithful, but became rich and more glorious among the Gentiles; they put on great pride and became high-minded and forsook the truth, and did not cleave to the righteous, but lived with the Gentiles, and this way became more pleasant to them; but they did not fall away from God, but remained in the faith, though not doing the works of the faith. Many therefore of them repented, and their dwelling came to be in the tower. But others, living completely with the Gentiles and being carried away by the vainglories of the Gentiles, fell away from God, and did the deeds of the Gentiles. These therefore were reckoned with the Gentiles. But others of them were double-minded, not hoping to be saved because of the deeds which they did; others were double-minded and made schisms among themselves. For these therefore who were double-minded because of their deeds there is still repentance; but their repentance needs to be quick, so that their dwelling may be in the tower; but for those who do not repent but remain in their pleasures, death is near. And those who have given their rods green, but the tips themselves dry and having cracks, these were always good and faithful and glorious before God, but sinned a very little through small desires and having small things against one another; but having heard my words the greater part quickly repented, and
