Glory to him who thus glorified our substance, glory to your immeasurable condescension, Savior, glory to your compassion, glory to [your] power, glory to you, for remaining unchangeable, immutable, you are wholly immovable, being ever-moving, wholly outside of creation, and wholly in all creation, wholly you fill all things, being wholly outside of all things, above all things, Master, and above every beginning, above every substance, above the nature of nature, above all ages, above all light, Savior, above noetic substance, for they too are your work, or rather, they are the work of your thought. For you are none of all things, but superior to all; for you are the cause of beings as the creator of all things and for this reason you are separate from all, understood as somehow from above, beyond all beings, invisible, unapproachable, incomprehensible and intangible, and being inconceivable you remain unchangeable, being simple, yet you are wholly variegated, and the mind is altogether unable to comprehend the variety of the glory and the beauty of your fairness. Therefore, the one who is none of all things as being above all things, the one outside all things, as you are God of all things, invisible, unapproachable, incomprehensible and intangible, (88) you yourself also became mortal, you entered into the world and were seen by all as approachable by the assumption of the flesh. And you were known also to the faithful by the glory of [your] divinity and you became comprehensible to them, the one who is utterly incomprehensible, and wholly visible yourself, the one invisible to all; and they saw your glory, that of the divine divinity, only the faithful see, but all the unbelievers, having seen you, remained blind, the light of the world. Therefore the faithful both then and now always see you and have with themselves you, the creator of all things, being with them and dwelling with them in the darkness of life, as you, the never-setting sun, as an unquenchable lamp, not at all overcome by the darkness, but always illuminating those who see you. And since you, as has been said, exist outside all things and those whom you illumine, you make to be outside the visible things, and just as you, being there above with your Father, happen to be wholly with us without separation, and again being in the world you are uncontainable by the world—for being in everything, you happen to be above everything—so you lead us your servants out from the midst of sensible things, existing within visible things, and you lead us wholly up with you, shining with your light, and make mortals into immortals; and remaining what we are, sons by your grace
