fulfill. We shall rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we shall be magnified. May the Lord fulfill all your requests; now I know that the Lord has saved His Anointed. From the diapsalm, those who have prayed prophesy that God will grant to him, to whom he offered rational sacrifices, as much as he asked for in his mind, and fulfillment to his counsel, or that the things he has resolved are not foreign to God. We shall enjoy the good things with you, they say, rejoicing in your salvation; for we have known by the Holy Spirit that the offspring to be born of you is the salvation of all men; for which reason we also shall be magnified in the name of our God. And may your requests be granted, for these are worthy of God. 23.197 He will hear him from his holy heaven, in the mighty deeds of the salvation of his right hand. But the right hand, and all the saving and right actions are in mighty deeds. For by powers and signs and wonders will he work his benefactions for men. Some in chariots and some in horses, but we will call upon the name of the Lord our God. They were entangled and fell, but we have risen and have been set upright. Save, Lord, the king, and hear us in whatever day we call upon you. But for the experience of things would be a test of the better. For your enemies, trusting in horses and chariots, being entangled, will fall just as Pharaoh did when he was drowned in the Red Sea; but we who are armed in the name of the Lord our God, and struggling together in prayers with you who offer up the sacrifices, will rise up and be set aright, when you have taken up the victories against the enemies. But these things will be, they say, even now at the time of the epiphany of the salvation that has been given. For then especially all the opposing powers, and the unseen and invisible enemies of God, being routed through this salvation, will fall. And all who have received the salvation will rise up from their former fall. Therefore Simeon said concerning him: Behold, this one is set for the fall and rising of many; the fall, that is, of his enemies and adversaries; but the rising of those who had fallen long ago, but were raised up by him. And these things will happen then; but now, Lord, save for us king David, both in every present time, and on whatever day we call upon you. And these things are fitting, as another says, also for Hezekiah. And you will understand these things also according to the law of anagogy. FOR THE END, A PSALM OF DAVID 20. For the things spoken are sent up for a favorable end, and it signifies the destruction of the enemies of God. Therefore according to Symmachus, it is a Song of Victory; but according to Aquila, To the Giver of Victory, a melody. Lord, in your strength the king will be glad. I think that these things set forth are also spoken by those who also prayed for David before this. David, therefore, having now learned from the oracles given to him about the salvation that would come from his seed, and of the power in that salvation, will be glad and rejoice greatly in these things. And taking courage in these things, and having overcome the enemies through them, he dedicates the prizes of victory to you, the God who gives victory. And he rejoices and exults exceedingly, being saved by you from the plot of the enemies; and he does not rejoice so much in his own salvation as in the fact that his salvation comes from you. For having desired the salvation from you, and having sent up a supplication for this with his own lips in prayers to God, he will not fall from his hope, 23.200 nor will he be deprived of his request, but according to his prayers also, he will obtain what he desires. And in your salvation he will rejoice
