καὶ τὴν τιμὴν διδοῦσι τοῦ διπλασίου τε ποινήν, οὕτω γὰρ ἐτυπώθη. τοὺς ἀντελλόγους, δέσποτα, τῷ δικαστῇ δεκτέον, τῆς παραθήκης
μόνης δὲ ἀντέλλογος οὐκ ἔνι. τὴν καταδίκην τὴν ἁπλῆν ἔχει ἐξ στιπουλάτο, ἡ ἀπὸ τοῦ δανείσματος, ἡ ἐξ ἀγορασίας, ἡ ἀπὸ τῆς
μισθώσεως, ἡ ἀπὸ ἐνταλμάτων· διπλῆν δ' ἔχουσιν εἴσπραξιν ἡ τοῦ Ἀκουιλίου, ἡ ἀφανὴς ἀφαίρεσις, ἡ παρακαταθήκη· τὸ δέ γε τετραπλάσιον
κλοπῆς ἐστι προδήλου ἄλλων τε πλείστων ἀγωγῶν καὶ ἰμφακτοὺμ πλειόνων, φόβου, συκοφαντίας τε, καὶ δικῶν ἄλλων πάλιν· διπλοῦν
δὲ τετραπλάσιον ὁ ἀπὸ ναυαγίου ἁρπάσας πρᾶγμα, δέσποτα, εἰσπράττεται δικαίως, καὶ τὸ μὲν τετραπλάσιον τῷ φίσκῳ προσκυροῦται,
τὸ δ' ἄλλο τετραπλάσιον ὁ ναυαγήσας ἔχει. οὐδεὶς δὲ ἐναγόμενος ὀνόματι οἰκείῳ ἱκάνωσίν τινα διδοῖ τὴν ἀπὸ καταδίκης· ὁ δ'
ἀλλοτρίαν ἀγωγὴν ἐν δικασταῖς γυμνάζων μὴ ἐμφανίσας ἔγγραφον ἐντολὴν πρωτοτύπου καλῶς ἀπαιτηθήσεται τὴν ἱκανοδοσίαν. αἱ μὲν
ἐκ νόμου ἀγωγαὶ αἵ τε ἀπὸ δογμάτων αἵ τε ἐκ διατάξεων τῶν βασιλικωτάτων διηνεκεῖς τυγχάνουσιν, ὡς ἤρεσε τοῖς νόμοις, οἱ νόμοι
τῶν πραιτώρων δὲ μονόχρονοι τὴν φύσιν· εἰσὶ δὲ καὶ πραιτώριαι διηνεκεῖς ὀλίγαι, ὡς ἡ περὶ τοῦ κλέμματος ἡ τοῖς διακατόχοις
παρεχομένη, δέσποτα, τοῖς γε νομικωτέροις. αἱ δέ γε μὴν ποινάλιαι ἀγωγαὶ κεκλημέναι τοῖς κληρονόμοις δίδονται, οὐ κατὰ κληρονόμων,
ὁποῖόν ἐστιν ἡ κλοπὴ ἁρπαγή τε πραγμάτων, αὐτὸς ὁ Ἀκουίλιος ὁ περὶ τῆς ζημίας· ἡ δέ γε περὶ ὕβρεως οὐδ' ἐν τοῖς κληρονόμοις,
εἰ λάβοι δὲ προκάταρξιν ἐν τοῖς δικαστηρίοις, καὶ κληρονόμοις δίδοται καὶ κατὰ κληρονόμων. Γυνὴ δὲ μετὰ χήρευσιν μὴ δευτερογαμοῦσα
σὺν τοῖς παισὶ μερίζεται τὸν κλῆρον τὸν πατρῷον λαμβάνει τε ἰσάριθμον μοῖραν ἑνὶ τῶν παίδων, καὶ
