Of a Christian? To love one another, as Christ also loved us. What is characteristic of a Christian? To see the Lord before him always. What is characteristic of a Christian? To be watchful every day and hour, and to be ready in the perfection of pleasing God, knowing that the Lord comes at an hour He is not expected.

Χριστιανοῦ; Τὸ ἀγαπᾷν ἀλλήλους, καθὼς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς ἠγάπησεν ἡμᾶς. Τί ἴδιον Χριστιανοῦ; Τὸ προορᾶσθαι τὸν Κύριον ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ διὰ παντός. Τί ἴδιον Χριστιανοῦ; Τὸ ἐφ' ἑκάστης ἡμέρας καὶ ὥρας γρηγορεῖν, καὶ ἐν τῇ τελειότητι τῆς πρὸς Θεὸν εὐαρεστήσεως ἕτοιμον εἶναι, εἰδότα, ὅτι ᾗ ὥρᾳ οὐ δοκεῖ, ὁ Κύριος ἔρχεται.
