7. Another. For a short time you lived upon the earth; but all things to Christ You gave willingly, with

them also winged speech. But now as a great priest, and of the heavenly choir Heaven holds you within, glorious Gregory.

8. Another. From infancy God called me in dreams by night. I came to the ends of wisdom. I purified my flesh 1451 and heart for the Word. Naked I escaped the flame of the world. I stood as a co-worker with Gregory my father.

9. Another. Shining angels in an endless circle, 1452 Of the thrice-radiant

Godhead attending the one splendor, Receive Gregory, unworthy, yet a priest.

Τριάδος Γρηγόριος θεράπων, Καὶ σοφίῃ σοφίης δεδραγμένος, ἠΐθεός τε Οἶον πλοῦτον ἔχων ἐλπίδ' ἐπουρανίην.

Ζʹ. Ἄλλο. Τυτθὸν ἔτι ζώεσκες ἐπὶ χθονί· πάντα δὲ Χριστῷ ∆ῶκας ἑκὼν, σὺν

τοῖς καὶ πτερόεντα λόγον. Νῦν δ' ἱερῆα μέγαν σε, καὶ οὐρανίοιο χορείης Οὐρανὸς ἐντὸς ἔχει, κύδιμε Γρηγόριε.

Ηʹ. Ἄλλο. Ἔκ με βρέφους ἐκάλεσσε Θεὸς νυχίοισιν ὀνείροις. Ἤλυθον ἐς σοφίης πείρατα. Σάρκα Λόγῳ 1451 Ἥγνισα καὶ κραδίην. Κόσμου φλόγα γυμνὸς ἄλυξα. Ἔστην συνααρὼν Γρηγορίῳ γενέτῃ.
