τὸ εἰωθὸς τοῦ πάσχα. εἰς δὲ τὰ κατηχούμενα, ἤγουν ἄνωθεν τῶν βασιλικῶν πυλῶν, ἐκρεμάσθησαν τὰ χρυσᾶ βῆλα τῶν κιόνων τοῦ κιβωρίου
καὶ ἕτερα βῆλα καὶ ἐνδυταὶ ἀπό τε τῆς ἁγίας Σοφίας καὶ τῆς νέας ἐκκλησίας· ἀλλὰ καὶ ἁλυσίδια πλεῖστα ἀπὸ διαφόρων ἐκκλησιῶν,
καὶ τὰ τῆς νέας πάντα μεγάλα πολυκάνδηλα· ἀλλὰ καὶ στέμματα καὶ διάφορα ἐργομούκια, σταυροί τε χρυσοῖ διάλιθοι καὶ 592 πτυχία
εὐαγγελίων ἐκεῖσε ἱδρύνθησαν. τὰ δὲ ἑξῆς τῆς προελεύσεως ἐτελέσθη κατὰ τὸν εἰωθότα τύπον. τῇ δὲ ἐννάτῃ τοῦ Αὐγούστου μηνὸς,
ἡμέρᾳ κυριακῇ, ἐγένετο κλητώριον ἐν τῷ τρικλίνῳ τοῦ Ἰουστινιανοῦ, ἐξῆλθεν δὲ τὸ ἀνάγλυφον ἀσήμιον τὸ ἐναποκείμενον ἐν τῷ βεστιαρίῳ
τοῦ Καριανοῦ, καὶ δι' αὐτοῦ γέγονεν ἡ πᾶσα ὑπηρεσία τοῦ τραπεζίου· ἔπαιξαν δὲ καὶ τὰ θυμελικὰ πάντα παίγνια. ἔφαγον δὲ ἐν
τῷ αὐτῷ κλητωρίῳ οἱ δύο φίλοι Ταρσῖται καὶ οἱ ἄνθρωποι αὐτῶν, καὶ δέσμιοι ἀπὸ τοῦ πραιτωρίου Ταρσῖται μʹ. ἔλαβον δὲ ἐν χρυσοῖς
σκουτελλίοις οἱ μὲν δύο φίλοι ἀνὰ μιλιαρησίων φʹ, οἱ δὲ λοιποὶ ἄνθρωποι αὐτῶν μιλ. γ, οἱ δὲ μʹ δέσμιοι μιλ. α. ἀπεστάλησαν
δὲ καὶ τοῖς ἐν τῷ πραιτωρίῳ ἐναπομείνασιν δεσμίοις μιλ. τοῦ δὲ βασιλέως ἀναστάντος, ἐκαθέσθησαν πάλιν οἱ αὐτοὶ φίλοι ἐν τῷ
δεξιῷ μέρει τοῦ αὐτοῦ τρικλίνου, καθ' ὃν προείρηται τρόπον. καὶ ἀπεστάλησαν πάλιν αὐτοῖς διὰ κοιτωνιτῶν μυριστικὰ, στάγματά
τε καὶ ἀλήμματα εὐώδη, καὶ νιψάμενοι καὶ εὐωδιασθέντες διῆλθον πάλιν διὰ τοῦ χρυσοτρικλίνου καὶ τῶν ἀνατολικῶν πυλῶν, καθ'
