πρὸ τοῦ τὸν βασιλέα ἐπονομάσαι "εἰς τὴν πρεσβείαν τῆς ὑπεραγίας Θεοτόκου" λαμβάνουσι πάντες οἱ καθεζόμενοι παρὰ τῶν τοῦ βασιλέως
χειρῶν μιλ. καὶ μετὰ τὴν συμπλήρωσιν τῆς ἐπιδόσεως τῶν μιλιαρησίων εὐφημοῦσιν οἱ παριστάμενοι, ὁμοίως καὶ οἱ καθεζόμενοι,
τὸν βασιλέα, καὶ εὐθὺς ὀνομάζει ὁ βασιλεὺς "εἰς τὴν πρεσβείαν τῆς ὑπεραγίας Θεοτόκου," καὶ πάντων κατὰ τὸ εἰωθὸς πινόντων,
λαμβάνουσι πάντες οἱ καθεζόμενοι διὰ χειρὸς τοῦ τῆς τραπέζης ἀνὰ φατλίου αʹ, δηλονότι παρὰ ἀρτοκλίνου ταῦτα λαμβάνων. καὶ
ἀνίστανται τῆς τραπέζης καὶ ἐξερχόμενοι διὰ τῆς ἐλεφαντίνης, 603 ἀπέρχεται ἕκαστος εἰς τὰ ἴδια. καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα πάλιν ἵσταται
ἑτέρα τράπεζα ἐν τῷ αὐτῷ ἀριστητηρίῳ, μυστικωτέρα τῆς πρώτης, καὶ καθέζεται ὁ μέγας βασιλεὺς καὶ ὁ μικρὸς καὶ ἡ αὐγούστα μετὰ
καὶ τῶν πορφυρογεννήτων καὶ τῶν ἰδίων καὶ μάλιστα οἰκειοτέρων ἀρχόντων καὶ οἰκείων ἀνθρώπων, ἤγουν τοῦ παρακοιμωμένου, τοῦ
πρωτοβεστιαρίου καὶ ἄλλων, ὧν ὁ βασιλεὺς κελεύει, πάντων εὐφραινομένων καὶ ἀγαλλομένων καὶ εὐφημούντων τὸν βασιλέα καὶ τὴν
αὐγούσταν. τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον τοῦ βρουμαλίου ἵσταται τράπεζα ἐν τῷ περιβλέπτῳ τρικλίνῳ τοῦ Ἰουστινιανοῦ διὰ ιϛʹ καὶ τὰ ἐγγὺς ἀποκοπτὸν,
ἐν ᾗ καθέζονται οἱ δεσπόται μετὰ τῶν μαγίστρων, ἀνθυπάτων, πατρικίων, ὀφφικιαλίων, πρωτοσπαθαρίων, καθὼς τὸ τακτικὸν κλητωρολόγιον
διαγορεύει. καὶ γίνεται κατὰ τὸν περιεχόμενον τύπον εἰς τὸ τακτικὸν τὸ σάξιμον, καὶ εἰσέρχονται ἐν τῷ σαξίμῳ οἵ τε μάγιστροι,
ἀνθύπατοι, πατρίκιοι, ὀφφικιάλιοι, πρωτοσπαθάριοι,
