at your right hand, arrayed in golden robes, embroidered. He is now speaking of the Church, of whom we have learned in the Song of Songs, that she is the one perfect dove of Christ, who receives into the right hand place of Christ those who are known for good works, separating them from the wicked, just as the shepherd separates the lambs from the kids. Therefore the queen stands, the soul joined to the bridal Word, the one not ruled by sin, but partaking of the kingdom of Christ, at the right hand of the Savior in golden robes; that is, in spiritual doctrines woven together and embroidered, gravely and sacredly adorning herself. But since the doctrines are not of one kind, but various and manifold, containing moral and natural and what are called contemplative discourses, for this reason the word says the robe of the bride is embroidered. Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline your ear, and forget your people, and your father's house; and the king will desire your beauty; for he is your Lord, and 29.409 they will worship him. He calls the Church to the hearing and the keeping of the commandments, and makes her his own through this address, calling her daughter; as it were, making her his child through love. Hear, O daughter, and see. He teaches her to have her mind trained for contemplation through the word, See. Consider, he says, creation, and having benefited from the order within it, thus ascend to the contemplation of the Creator. Then, bending her high neck of arrogance, Incline, he says, your ear. Do not run away to outside myths, but accept the humble voice in the evangelical word; Incline your ear to the teaching here, so that you may forget those wicked customs and the teachings of your fathers. Therefore, Forget your people, and your father's house. For everyone who practices sin has been born of the devil. Cast out for me, he says, the teachings of demons, forget sacrifices, nocturnal dances, myths that inflame to fornication and all licentiousness. For this reason I have called you my daughter, so that you may hate the father who formerly begot you for destruction. For if through forgetfulness you wipe away the stains of wicked teachings, having received back your own beauty, you will appear desirable to the bridegroom and king. For he is your Lord, and they will worship him. He indicates the necessity of submission through the words, He is your Lord. And all creation will worship him. Because At the name of Jesus Christ every knee will bow, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth. And the daughter of Tyre with gifts. The rich among the people will entreat your face. It seems that the excess of idolatry was practiced in the land of Canaan. And the metropolis of Canaan is Tyre. Therefore, exhorting the Church to obedience, the word says, And the daughter of Tyre will come one day with gifts. And the rich of the people will worship your face with gifts. He did not say, They will worship you with gifts, but, Your face. For the Church is not worshipped, but the head of the Church, Christ, whom Scripture has called the face. All the glory of the king's daughter is within, robed in golden tassels, embroidered. Virgins will be brought to the king after her. Since she was cleansed from the 29.412 old teachings of wickedness, having obeyed the teaching, and having forgotten her people, and her father's house, the Holy Spirit relates the things concerning her. And since he saw the purity in secret, All, he says, the glory of the king's daughter, that is, of the bride of Christ, who has now become through adoption the daughter of the king, is from within. The word exhorts us to proceed to the inmost mysteries of the ecclesiastical glory, as within
