σύγκλητον ἀλλαξίμων, καὶ 621 τῇ ἑξῆς προέρχονται πάντες οἱ συγκλητικοὶ, εἶτα ἔρχεται ὁ ῥαιφερενδάριος τοῦ πατριάρχου, καὶ
ἐρωτᾷ, εἰ κελεύει ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰσελθεῖν τὸν πατριάρχην. τοῦ δὲ βασιλέως ὑπομιμνησκομένου παρὰ τοῦ πραιποσίτου καὶ κελεύοντος
εἰσελθεῖν τὸν πατριάρχην, ἐξέρχεται ὁ πραιπόσιτος λέγων τῷ ῥαιφερενδαρίῳ, ὅτι κελεύει ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰσελθεῖν τὸν πατριάρχην.
ὁ δὲ ἀπιὼν προσκαλεῖται τὸν πατριάρχην, καὶ εἰσέρχεται ἐν τῷ παλατίῳ, καθὼς εἴθισται αὐτῷ, μετὰ τοῦ σεκρέτου αὐτοῦ καὶ τῶν
μητροπολιτῶν καὶ ἀρχιεπισκόπων, καὶ ὑπαντᾷ αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν τῷ χρυσοτρικλίνῳ. καὶ εἰς οἷον ἂν ναὸν κελεύῃ ὁ βασιλεὺς γενέσθαι
τὸ κούρευμα, ἄπεισιν μετὰ τοῦ πατριάρχου. καὶ εἰθ' οὕτως εἰσέρχονται οἱ τοῦ κουβουκλείου καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες τοῦ πατριάρχου καὶ
κουβουκλείσιοι, πρὸς τούτοις μητροπολῖται καὶ ἀρχιεπίσκοποι. εἶτα κελεύσει τοῦ βασιλέως ἔρχονται καὶ οἱ τῆς συγκλήτου καὶ
ὅσοι μέλλουσι γίνεσθαι ἀνάδοχοι τῶν τριχῶν τοῦ βασιλικοῦ παιδός. εἶτα φέρει ὁ πραιπόσιτος τὰ διὰ ῥαφῆς συνημμένα πρὸς ἄλληλα
ἐγχείρια, καὶ ἐπιδίδωσι ταῦτα τῷ πατριάρχῃ, ὁ δὲ πατριάρχης τοῖς μέλλουσι γίνεσθαι ἀναδόχοις, καὶ ἑξῆς γίνεται ἡ τῆς ἐκκλησίας
ἀκόλουθος τοῦ κουρεύματος τάξις. καὶ τὸ μὲν πρῶτον χρυσοῦν ἐγχείριον, ἐν ᾧ καὶ αἱ ἀποκαρεῖσαι τρίχες τοῦ παιδὸς ἔγκεινται,
ἐπιδίδοται τῷ πραιποσίτῳ, τὰ δὲ λοιπὰ ἐγχείρια
