And the verse, "And behold, I am bringing a flood, water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under heaven, a[nd whate]ver is on the earth shall die," is both arousing, [as was said before], and it shows that things on the earth and things that f[ly in the air will be destroy]e[d]; for perhaps the creatures in the water were saved. *** (12 lines in blank 174 i, 18. And I will establish my covenant with you. It does not seem that the cov[ena]nt made by God with Noah was one bound by an oath, as Symmachus and Aquila have interpreted. And that by custom he did [not] s ay it [idly, b]ut with observation, one can say, and [to] confir[m the G]osp[el], as it was said by the Savior: "No one [can] serve t[wo master]s; for either he will hate the one and l[ove the othe]r, or he will be devoted to one and des[pise] the other; you ca[nnot] serve God and mammon."
