KINGS OF THE ASSYRIANS Chalaos, the 30th king of the Assyrians, reigned for 45 years. It was the 4242nd year of the world. Anebos, the 31st king of the Assyrians, reigned for 38 years. It was the 4287th year of the world. Babios, the 32nd king of the Assyrians, reigned for 37 years. It was the 4325th year of the world. This Babios is the one called Tithonos by the Greeks, the 32nd king of the Assyrians. His son was Memnon, who fought alongside Priam against the Greeks and was slain by Achilles. A copy of Priam's letter is also extant. He is also the second Tautanes. Thinaios, the 33rd king of the Assyrians, reigned for 30 years. It was the 4362nd year of the world. Derkylos, the 34th king of the Assyrians, reigned for 40 years. It was the 4392nd year of the world.
KINGS OF THE EGYPTIANS Acherres, the 45th king of the Egyptians, reigned for 8 or also 30 years. of the
world was the 4041st year. 182 Armaios, also called Danaos, the 46th king of the Egyptians, reigned for 9 years. It was the 4049th year of the world. Armaios, also called Danaos, fleeing his brother Rhamesses who was Aegyptus, falls from his kingdom in Egypt and arrives in Hellas. Rhamesses his brother, also called Aegyptus, reigned over Egypt for 68 years, renaming the country Egypt after his own name, which was previously called Mestraea, and by the Greeks Aeria. And Danaos, also called Armaios, having seized Argos and expelled Sthenelos the son of Krotopos, reigned over the Argives, and his descendants after him called the Danaidai until Eurystheus the son of Sthenelos the son of Perseus, after whom the Pelopidai from Pelops took over the rule, of whom Atreus was the first.
KINGS OF THE ARGIVES Danaos, the 10th king of the Argives, reigned for 58 years. Of the world it was
the 4064th year. Lynceus, the 11th king of the Argives, reigned for 35 years. It was the 4122nd year of the world. Abas, the 12th king of the Argives, reigned for 37 years. It was the 4157th year of the world. Proitos, also called Perseus, the 13th king of the Argives, reigned for 17 years. It was the 4174th year of the world. Acrisius, the 14th king of the Argives, reigned for 31 years. It was the 4211th year of the world. After Acrisius, they say, when the rule of the Argives was transferred to Mycenae, these were the kings. Perseus, who unwittingly killed Acrisius, Sthenelos, Eurystheus, Pelops, Atreus, Thyestes, Agamemnon, Aegisthus, Orestes, Tisamenos, Pentheus and Cometes. After whom was the return of the Heracleidae. Up to this 4243rd year of the world, there are 551 years of the Argive kingdom in 14 generations or kings; of whom 9 are properly called Argives, 183 and 5 are Danaids, who ruled from Danaos until Acrisius, during whose time the Argives were also called Danaans. After these, Pelops reigned over Argos, called horse-driver by the poet Homer in the Iliad, having received the scepter of kingship from Zeus himself; he left the kingdom to his son Atreus. After whom was Thyestes, then Agamemnon and Menelaus sons of Atreus, who also campaigned against Troy because of the theft of Helen, along with Achilles and Odysseus and Ajax and the other kings of Europe and the islands with their ships and armies. After whom was Aegisthus, then Orestes and the other Pelopidai, they themselves also being proclaimed kings of the Argives according to the poetry of Homer, but according to some historians, of the Mycenaeans because they ruled both lands, whom Eusebius also follows. But we list them successively as Argives, considering that in succession to the Danaids they reigned over Argos, but were called Pelopidai from Pelops, to whom they trace their lineage, and they greatly increased the dominion of the Argives. But some differ, saying that after Acrisius, when the rule of the Areians was transferred to Mycenae, Perseus, Sthenelos, and Eurystheus reigned before Atreus, making no mention of Pelops at all, whom we do not follow, having Homer as a witness.
