Bronchos. the throat, which we also call pharynx, and in the case of fish, those having gills. it is said from brecho, being a certain brechos, that which is moistened in eating and drinking. and common usage says bronchos; but the ancients, branchon; whence also branchian, the passive, is said. and the word bronchos is formed from the sound produced in swallowing. Brochthos. the small drink, and the gullet, through which we swallow. it is said from brecho, bebrocha. Brochos. the rope of the halter. Homer: having fastened a noose- but properly brochos is the rope for anchors and for mooring lines, because it is moistened. and brochos is necessity in the Apostle: not that I may cast a snare upon you.
