that he rose from the dead, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of the majesty of God Almighty upon the Cherubim, who heard, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet"; whom Stephen the most blessed saw standing at the right hand of the Power, and crying out said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God as high priest of all the rational orders," through whom be reverence and majesty and glory to God Almighty both now and for ages of ages; amen.

BOOK 7 Concerning conduct and thanksgiving and

Christian initiation a. That there are two ways: one of life and one of death. b. Ethical exhortations of the Lord's ordinances, agreeing with the ancient command of the divine laws; prohibition of anger, murder, corruption, adultery, and every forbidden sodomitical act. c. Prohibition of sorcery, infanticide, perjury, and false testimony. d. Prohibition of slander, wrath and deceitful character, contradiction, falsehood, and of covetousness and hypocrisy. e. Prohibition of malice, partiality, anger, misanthropy, envy. f. Concerning divination by birds, incantation, augury, desire of evil things, and other forbidden things. g. Prohibition of murmuring and arrogance and pride and insolence. h. Concerning long-suffering, sincerity, gentleness, and patience. i. That one must esteem teachers in Christ more than parents; for the latter provide only being, but the former well-being. j. That one must not separate from the saints, but make peace between those who are fighting, and judge justly, and not show partiality. k. Concerning the double-minded, that is, of little faith. l. Concerning doing good. m. How masters ought to treat their household servants, and how servants ought to be subject. n. Concerning hypocrisy and observance of laws and confession. o. Concerning the care for parents.

τὸ ἀναστῆναι αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν, καὶ καθεσθέντι ἐκ δεξιῶν τοῦ θρόνου τῆς μεγαλωσύνης τοῦ παντοκράτορος Θεοῦ ἐπὶ τῶν Χερουβίμ, τῷ ἀκούσαντι· «Κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου, ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σουή· ὃν ἐθεάσατο Στέφανος ὁ μακαριώτατος ἑστῶτα ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς ∆υνάμεως, καὶ ἀναβοήσας εἶπεν· «Ἰδοὺ θεωρῶ τοὺς οὐρανοὺς ἀνεῳγμένους καὶ τὸν Υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἑστῶτα ἐκ δεξιῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ ὡς ἀρχιερέα πάντων τῶν λογικῶν ταγμάτων», δι' οὗ τὸ σέβας καὶ ἡ μεγαλωσύνη καὶ ἡ δόξα τῷ παντοκράτορι Θεῷ καὶ νῦν καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων· ἀμήν.

Ἠθικαὶ παραινέσεις κυριακῶν διατάξεων συμφωνοῦσαι τῇ παλαιᾷ παρακελεύσει τῶν θείων νόμων· ἀπαγόρευσις θυμοῦ, φόνου, διαφθορᾶς, μοιχείας καὶ πάσης ἀπηγορευμένης πράξεως σοδομι τικῆς. γ. Ἀπαγόρευσις γοητείας, τεκνοκτονίας, ἐπιορκίας καὶ ψευδομαρ τυρίας. δ. Ἀπαγόρευσις κακολογίας, μήνιδος καὶ ἤθους ὑπούλου, ἀντι λογίας, ψεύδους, πλεονεξίας τε καὶ ὑποκρίσεως. ε. Ἀπαγόρευσις κακοηθείας, προσωποληψίας, ὀργῆς, μισανθρωπίας, βασκανίας. ς. Περὶ οἰωνοσκοπικῆς, ἐπαοιδῆς, κληδονισμοῦ, ἐπιθυμίας κακῶν καὶ λοιπῶν ἀπηγορευμένων. ζ. Ἀπαγόρευσις γογγυσμοῦ καὶ αὐθαδείας καὶ ὑπερηφανίας καὶ θρασύτητος. η. Περὶ μακροθυμίας, ἀκακίας, πραότητος καὶ ὑπομονῆς. θ. Ὅτι χρὴ τοὺς κατὰ Χριστὸν διδασκάλους γονέων πλεῖον ἡγεῖ σθαι· οἱ μὲν γὰρ τὸ εὖ εἶναι, οἱ δὲ τὸ εἶναι μόνον παρέχουσιν. ι. Ὅτι χρὴ μὴ ἀποσχίζειν τῶν ἁγίων, ἀλλ' εἰρηνεύειν μαχομένους, κρίνειν τε δικαίως, καὶ μὴ προσωποληπτεῖν. ια. Περὶ διψύχου ἤτοι ὀλιγοπίστου. ιβ. Περὶ εὐποιΐας. ιγ. Ὅπως δεῖ προσφέρεσθαι τοῖς οἰκέταις τοὺς κυρίους αὐτῶν, καὶ ὅπως χρὴ ὑποτάσσεσθαι τοὺς οἰκέτας. ιδ. Περὶ ὑποκρίσεως καὶ προσοχῆς νόμων καὶ ἐξομολογήσεως. ιε. Περὶ τῆς εἰς γονέας θεραπείας.
