5.26.3 And the saying which declares this also announces the good news: "Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and will dwell in your midst." For we have believed that the God Word dwells in the midst of the church, just as indeed he has promised, saying: "Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age," 5.26.4 and "where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them." And when I myself, he says, the Lord, have come and dwelt in your midst, you will then receive a greater knowledge concerning God the Almighty, as I the Lord ascribe the cause of my mission to men to the Father who sent me; 5.26.5 and you will know "that the Lord Almighty has sent me" to you. And next, concerning another Lord and God, the Lord himself speaks thus: "and I will strengthen them in the Lord their God, and in his name they will boast, says the Lord." Who then would be those who boast in the Lord...? 5.27.1 From the same. "And the Lord showed me Joshua the high priest, standing before the face of the angel of the Lord, and the devil stood at his right hand to oppose him. And the Lord said to the devil, may the Lord rebuke you, O devil, and may the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you." 5.27.2 Again here too the Lord says that another Lord will rebuke the devil, not the Lord who is speaking himself rebuking, but mentioning another Lord. Through these things I think it is clearly demonstrated, the proof concerning the two Lords, the Father and God of all, and him who after the Father has received lordship and dominion over all created things. 5.28.1 From Malachi. "Behold, I send my messenger, and he will look upon the way before my face, and suddenly the Lord whom you seek will come into the temple, and the angel of the covenant whom you desire; behold, he is coming, says the Lord Almighty. And who will endure the day of his coming?" 5.28.2 These things are also similar to the former. For the Lord himself, God Almighty, says that the Lord will come into his temple, speaking about another; and he thus reveals the God Word. After this he also names him "angel of the covenant," whom the Lord Almighty himself teaches that he sends before his own face, saying: behold, I will send my messenger before my face. 5.28.3 But this same one, whom he called angel, he next again names Lord, saying, "and suddenly the Lord will come," and "the angel of the covenant." And having spoken of one and the same, he adds: "behold, he is coming, and who will endure the day of his coming," signifying his second and glorious coming. And he who prophesies all these things is the Lord Almighty, the God of all. 5.29.1 From the same. "And to those who fear my name the sun of righteousness will arise, and there will be healing in his wings." He who has often been named Lord and God and angel and chief captain, and Christ and priest, and Word and wisdom of God and image, this same one is now called "sun of righteousness." The Father who begot him therefore promises that he will arise, not for all, but only for those who fear his name, giving them as a reward for their fear of him the light of the sun of righteousness. And this would be the God Word, who said: "I am the light of the world."
