the house of the knowledge of the mysteries of God and to be illuminated by the divine light and to see God with the purified eye of the heart, as is possible for us being human, and thence to be initiated into the more perfect mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens and thus from this knowledge, given from above by the Father of lights, to come to the word of teaching and to teach our neighbors, what is the good and perfect and well-pleasing will of God, and through our teaching to offer to God a special people, to Him who through His Holy Spirit appointed us as teachers of His church, so that we may not, as despised ones and naked of the wedding garment, be cast out of the bridal chamber of Christ, but rather as prudent stewards, having well managed the matters of the word of teaching among our fellow servants and, before this, the matters of our life, we may enter into it without hindrance in the splendor of life and of heavenly knowledge, light-formed and filled with the Holy Spirit, and reign together with Christ, co-inheriting with Him the things of the kingdom of God the Father in the Holy Spirit, the ever-living and immortal source and life, to whom belongs all glory, honor, and worship, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
That it is not without danger to bury the talent given to us by God; for it is necessary to make it public and to show it to all and to proclaim with gratitude the good deeds of God for the of the hearers

Discourse 34. (421) Brothers and fathers and children in Christ God, what concerning the things taught by
us in various discourses often have you supposed? What have you decided in yourselves against the one who spoke these things with boldness? Did you perhaps suppose that we said something outside the divine Scriptures? Did you perhaps secretly blame us for having said extravagant things? Did you perhaps condemn us as boasting? If, then, you were so disposed toward what was said, may Christ be merciful to you, but I exhort your love that no one persist in such a judgment. For we have not written these things for the sake of show, may God who had mercy and brought us to these things not allow this, but mindful of the gifts of God, which from the beginning of our life and until the present He has performed with us the unworthy, giving thanks (422) we praise Him, as a compassionate Master and our benefactor Lord, and the talent given to us from Him we gratefully deposit with you all. For how can we be silent about so great a magnitude of His good deeds or ungratefully, as forgetful and wicked servants, bury the talent given to us? For being unable to do this, we proclaim His mercy, we confess His grace, we show to all His goodness toward us and we exhort you also through the teaching of the word to strive to partake of His gifts and to enjoy what we, the unworthy, have also enjoyed through His ineffable goodness. For in this we do you no wrong, nor have we wronged you, but we long to impart from what we have received to our fellow servants, who are you, the people of Christ and a holy flock and a royal priesthood, deemed worthy to hear and to be called.
For just as some poor man who loves his brothers, having asked and received coins from some Christ-loving and merciful person, runs to his fellow poor men with joy and
