O Lord, even if especially through the exceeding loving-kindness of the Father who sent you, you were searched out even to my littleness, yet be exalted now to the heavens, and dwelling in the bosom of the Father's divinity, fill all the earth with your glory. I say these things rightly, having been brought into freedom from care of all evil, and having been delivered from the aforementioned cubs and lions through your visitation; who prepared snares for my feet, and, as much as was in their power, bent down my soul; but they also dug a pit before my face. These things they wrought against themselves, but not against me, because of your protection. For they were the first to fall into their own pit. Wherefore, since you, the one sent by the Father, have wrought these things, be exalted now, and receive the heavenly pursuits, as your own and customary to your divinity. My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready, I will sing and I will make melody, and what follows. The Savior, in his teachings to the disciples, having said these things concerning the Holy Spirit: If you love me, keep my commandments; and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you forever, the Spirit of truth; and again: These things I have spoken to you, while I am still with you; but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom my Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance; and again: I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will relate the truth to you, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you. By which he shows that the things from him are greater and not contained by the apostles; For you cannot, he says, bear them; but the Spirit of truth, who is supplied from him and sent to the apostles by him, declares to them all the truth. If, then, these things have been understood, it is fitting that David, having spoken before to the God sent for his aid, Be exalted to the heavens, O God, and your glory over all the earth, next beseeches the same one to send down to him the Spirit, the 23.513 Comforter, the prophetic one, asserting that he himself is ready for his reception; for the temple in him and the vessel of his soul have been cleansed; that is, the mind itself, which the word is accustomed to call heart tropically; which he indeed shows by saying: My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready. My heart, therefore, and my mind are ready, he says. But you, then, send down your Spirit. For when he has come and is borne upon my soul, I will sing and I will make melody as is my custom, offering my own ministry and service to the power of the prophetic Spirit. And having said these things, and having been heard immediately according to the text, While you are still speaking, I will say, Behold, I am here, he perceived the presence of the Holy Spirit. Then, as if standing at the doors, the Prophet turns and awakens himself to the ministry of prophecy; wherefore he adds: Awake, my glory. My glory is to prophesy. Then he adds: Awake, psaltery and harp; alluding to the soul through the psaltery, and to the body through the harp; or even taking up the customary instruments with his hands, in order to play what was suggested by the Spirit. And to these he adds, saying: I will awake early. For having just been enlightened through the presence of the Spirit, and having come to be in the day of divine light, I am ready to prophesy. And having said these things, he dedicates his whole self to the Spirit; and it, as through an instrument, through the prophet announces good things, evangelizes to all the nations, saying: I will give thanks to you among the peoples, O Lord, I will sing praises to you among the nations. For since at present the nation of the Jews and their people persecute your prophets, so as to grant them no place; but there will be a time when all the nations on earth
