of his future second coming, in which he comes with glory and power to judge the living and the dead and to give to each according to his works, we offer to you, the king and God, according to his command, this bread and this cup, giving thanks to you through him for which things you have counted us worthy to stand before you and to minister as priests to you. And we ask you, that you would look favorably upon these gifts set forth before you, you, the God who has no need, and be well-pleased in them for the honor of your Christ, and send down your Holy Spirit upon this sacrifice, the witness of the sufferings of the Lord Jesus, so that he may declare this bread to be the body of your Christ and this cup the blood of your Christ; so that those who partake of it may be strengthened for piety, may obtain forgiveness of sins, may be delivered from the devil and his deceit, may be filled with the Holy Spirit, may become worthy of your Christ, may obtain eternal life, you being reconciled to them, O almighty Master. Furthermore we pray you, O Lord, also for your holy Church from one end of the earth to the other, which you have purchased with the precious blood of your Christ, that you would keep it unshaken and untroubled until the end of the age; and for every episcopate that rightly divides the word of truth. Furthermore we beseech you also for my own nothingness who offers to you, and for the whole presbytery, for the deacons and all the clergy, that you would make them all wise and fill them with the Holy Spirit. Furthermore we beseech you, O Lord, for the emperor and those in authority and for the whole army, that our affairs may be peaceful, so that passing all the time of our life in quiet and harmony we may glorify you through Jesus Christ our hope. Furthermore we offer to you also for all the saints who from of old have pleased you: patriarchs, prophets, righteous men, apostles, martyrs, confessors, bishops, presbyters, deacons, subdeacons, readers, singers, virgins, widows, laypeople, and for all whose names you yourself know. Furthermore we offer to you for this people, that you would show them forth for the praise of your Christ a royal priesthood, a holy nation; for those in virginity and purity, for the widows of the Church, for those in honorable marriages and
