Concerning most accurate theology; and that he who does not see the light of the glory of God is worse than the blind. (338)

O my compassionate God, my creator, shine more for me your unapproachable light, that you may fill my heart with joy. Yes, be not angry, yes, do not abandon, but illumine my soul with your light; for you, my God, are your light. For if you are called by many and various names, yet you yourself are one; but this one is unknown to every nature and is invisible and ineffable, which, being manifested, is called all things. This one, therefore, is a nature of three hypostases, one divinity, one kingdom, one power, for the Trinity is one. For my God is one Trinity, not three, yet the one is three in hypostases, being of the same nature with one another, wholly of the same power, of the same essence, united unconfusedly beyond mind, and again divided indivisibly, the three into one and the one into three. For one is he who made all things, Jesus Christ with the unoriginate Father, (338) and the co-unoriginate Holy Spirit. Therefore the Trinity is one undividedly in all, and the three are in the one, and the one in the three, or rather for me the three are one and the one again three; understand, worship, believe now and unto the ages. For this one, having appeared, shone, and illumined, having been partaken of, having been imparted, is every good; wherefore it is called not one, but many also by us: light and peace and joy, life, food and drink, clothing, a mantle, a tent and divine house, dawn, resurrection, rest and a bath,

Ὦ φιλοικτίρμον Θεέ μου, ποιητά μου, λάμψον πλεῖόν μοι τό ἀπρόσιτον φῶς σου, ἵνα μου χαρᾶς ἐμπλήσῃς τήν καρδίαν. Ναί, μή ὀργισθῇς, ναί, μή ἐγκαταλίπῃς, ἀλλά αὔγασον ψυχήν μου τῷ φωτί σου˙ τό γάρ φῶς σου σύ, ὁ Θεός μου, τυγχάνεις. Εἰ γάρ κέκλησαι πολλοῖς καί διαφόροις τοῖς ὀνόμασιν, ἀλλ᾿ ἕν αὐτός ὑπάρχεις˙ τοῦτο δέ τό ἕν ἄγνωστον πάσῃ φύσει καί ἀόρατον καί ἄφραστον τυγχάνει, ὅ παραδεικνύμενον πάντα καλεῖται. Τοῦτο οὖν τό ἕν τρισυπόστατος φύσις, μία θεότης, μία τε βασιλεία, μία δύναμις, ἕν ἡ Τριάς γάρ πέλει. Τριάς μία γάρ ὁ Θεός μου, οὐ τρία, τρία ὅμως δέ τό ἕν καθ᾿ ὑποστάσεις, ὁμοφυεῖς ἀλλήλαις οὔσας τῇ φύσει, ὁμοδυνάμους ὅλως, ὁμοουσίους, ἀσυγχύτως μέν ὑπέρ νοῦν ἡνωμένας, ἀδιαιρέτως δ᾿ αὖθις διαιρουμένας, εἰς ἕν τά τρία καί τό ἕν γε εἰς τρία. Εἷς γάρ ἐστιν ὁ ποιήσας τά πάντα Ἰησοῦς Χριστός σύν Πατρί τῷ ἀνάρχῳ, (338) συνανάρχῳ τε Πνεύματι τῷ Ἁγίῳ. Ἕν οὖν ἡ Τριάς ἀμερίστως εἰς ἅπαν, ἐν τῷ ἑνί τά τρία δέ, ἐν τοῖς τρισί τό ἕν δέ, μᾶλλον δέ ἕν τά τρία μοι καί τό ἕν τρία πάλιν˙ νόει, προσκύνει, πίστευε νῦν καί εἰς τούς αἰῶνας. Τό ἕν γάρ τοῦτο φαντασθέν, λάμψαν καί καταυγάσαν, μεταληφθέν, μεταδοθέν πᾶν ἀγαθόν ὑπάρχει˙ διό οὐχ ἕν, ἀλά πολλά καί παρ᾿ ἡμῖν καλεῖται˙ φῶς καί εἰρήνη καί χαρά, ζωή, τροφή καί πόσις, ἔνδυμα, περιβόλαιον, σκηνή καί θεῖος οἶκος, ἀνατολή, ἀνάστασις, ἀνάπαυσις λουτρόν τε,
