oil for the holy lamp and incense at the time of the divine offering. δ. Let all other fruit be sent home as first-fruits for the bishop and the presbyters, but not to the altar; it is clear that the bishop and the presbyters shall also distribute a share to the deacons and the other clergy. ε. Let not a bishop or presbyter or deacon put away his own wife under pretext of piety; but if he does put her away, let him be excommunicated, and if he persists, let him be deposed. ς. Let not a bishop or presbyter or deacon take up worldly cares; but if he does, let him be deposed. ζ. If any bishop, or presbyter, or deacon shall celebrate the holy day of Pascha before the vernal equinox with the Jews, let him be deposed. η. If any bishop, or presbyter, or deacon, or any one of the sacerdotal list, when the offering has been made, does not partake of it, let him declare the cause; and if it be a reasonable one, let him be excused; but if he does not declare it, let him be excommunicated, as having become a cause of harm to the people and having cast suspicion upon him who offered, as though he had not offered rightly. θ. All the faithful who enter and hear the Scriptures, but do not stay for the prayer and the holy communion, must be excommunicated as causing disorder in the Church. ι. If anyone shall pray, even in a private house, with an excommunicated person, let him also be excommunicated. ια. If any cleric shall pray with a deposed cleric as with a cleric, let him also be deposed. ιβ. If any cleric or layman who is excommunicated, or not to be received, shall go into another city and be received without letters commendatory, let those who received him and he who was received be excommunicated. ιγ. But if he be already excommunicated, let his excommunication be intensified, as one who has lied to and deceived the Church of God. ιδ. A bishop is not permitted to leave his own diocese and jump to another, even if he is urged by many, unless there be some reasonable cause compelling him to do this, as being able to contribute greater profit to the people there by a word of piety; and this not of his own accord, but by the judgment of many bishops and at their great entreaty. ιε. If any presbyter, or deacon, or anyone at all on the list of the clergy, having left his own diocese, should go to another, and having entirely removed himself, should live in another diocese against the will of his own bishop; we command that this one no longer
