not as one who accepted it, not as one who permitted it, but as one who underwent birth, as one who endured the cross, as one who died and rose again; but into the name of the Paraclete, neither as of the Father nor as of the Son, but as of one who bears witness to the good pleasure of God and to the permission and to the obedience in all things of the Only-begotten. But let those who do not baptize thus, as being ignorant of the mystery of godliness, be deposed. For he who says the Father suffered is more impious than the Jews, crucifying the Father also with Christ; but he who denies that the Only-begotten Son was made flesh for us and endured the cross is a fighter against God and an enemy of the saints; but he who names the Paraclete Father or Son is ignorant and foolish, demonstrating the minister of the Only-begotten to be a co-creator and co-provider and co-lawgiver and co-judge and co-author of the resurrection, or a high priest of equal honor with the Son or with the Father, either glorifying two without beginning or saying there are two fathers, deaf to him who says: "The Lord our God is one Lord." For in our own time Simon Magus belched forth these things, drawing to himself for the people a deceitful, unstable, and evil spirit, and babbling that God is one with three names, and sometimes cutting away the passion of Christ and His birth. You therefore, O bishops, baptize into one God, Father and Son and Holy Spirit as the third, according to the mind of the Lord and our regulation in the Spirit. να. If any bishop or presbyter or deacon, or any one of the sacerdotal list, abstains from marriage and meat and wine, not for asceticism, but through abhorrence, forgetting that "All things are very good," and that "God made man male and female," but blaspheming, slanders creation, let him either be corrected, or be deposed and cast out of the Church; and likewise a layman. νβ. If any bishop or presbyter does not receive him who turns from sin, but casts him out, let him be deposed, because he grieves Christ who said: "There is joy in heaven over one sinner that repents." νγ. If any bishop or presbyter or deacon on feast days does not partake of meat or wine, let him be deposed, as having his conscience seared, and becoming a cause of scandal to many. νδ. If any cleric is found eating in a tavern, let him be excommunicated, except when lodging at an inn on the road by necessity.

Ὑμεῖς οὖν, ὦ ἐπίσκοποι, εἰς ἕνα Θεὸν Πατέρα καὶ Υἱὸν καὶ ἅγιον Πνεῦμα τρίτον βαπτίσατε κατὰ τὴν τοῦ Κυρίου γνώμην καὶ τὴν ἡμετέραν ἐν Πνεύματι διάταξιν. να. Eἴ τις ἐπίσκοπος ἢ πρεσβύτερος ἢ διάκονος ἢ ὅλως ἐκ τοῦ καταλόγου τοῦ ἱερατικοῦ γάμου καὶ κρεῶν καὶ οἴνου οὐ δι' ἄσκησιν, ἀλλὰ διὰ βδελυρίαν ἀπέχεται, ἐπιλα θόμενος, ὅτι· «Πάντα καλὰ λίανή καὶ ὅτι· «Ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἐποίησεν ὁ Θεὸς τὸν ἄνθρωπον», ἀλλὰ βλασφημῶν διαβάλλει τὴν δημιουργίαν, ἢ διορθούσθω ἢ καθαιρείσθω καὶ τῆς Ἐκκλησίας ἀποβαλλέσθω· ὡσαύτως καὶ λαϊκός. νβ. Eἴ τις ἐπίσκοπος ἢ πρεσβύτερος τὸν ἐπιστρέφοντα ἀπὸ ἁμαρτίας οὐ προσδέχεται, ἀλλὰ ἀποβάλλεται, καθαι ρείσθω, ὅτι λυπεῖ τὸν Χριστὸν τὸν εἰπόντα· «Χαρὰ γίνεται ἐν οὐρανῷ ἐπὶ ἑνὶ ἁμαρτωλῷ μετανοοῦντι.» νγ. Eἴ τις ἐπίσκοπος ἢ πρεσβύτερος ἢ διάκονος ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τῶν ἑορτῶν οὐ μεταλαμβάνει κρεῶν ἢ οἴνου, καθαι ρείσθω ὡς κεκαυτηριασμένος τὴν συνείδησιν καὶ αἴτιος σκανδάλου πολλοῖς γενόμενος. νδ. Eἴ τις κληρικὸς ἐν καπηλείῳ φωραθῇ ἐσθίων, ἀφορι ζέσθω, παρὲξ τοῦ ἐν πανδοχείῳ ἐν ὁδῷ δι' ἀνάγκην καταλύειν.
