do you think at all with this? And how to enter into the kingdom with the heavenly ones and to reign and to be with the King and Master of all? O my merciful God, my creator, shine your unapproachable light more upon me, so that you may fill my heart with joy. Yes, be not angry, yes, do not abandon me, but illuminate my soul with your light; for you, my God, are your light. For though you are called by many and various names, yet you yourself are one; and this one is unknown to every nature and invisible and ineffable, which, when it is revealed, is called everything. This one, therefore, is a tri-hypostatic nature, one divinity, and one kingdom, one power, for the Trinity is one. For my God is one Trinity, not three, yet the one is three according to hypostases, being of the same nature with each other in nature, wholly of the same power, of the same essence, united indeed unconfusedly beyond understanding,

Ὦ φιλοικτίρμον Θεέ μου, ποιητά μου, λάμψον πλεῖόν μοι τό ἀπρόσιτον φῶς σου, ἵνα μου χαρᾶς ἐμπλήσῃς τήν καρδίαν. Ναί, μή ὀργισθῇς, ναί, μή ἐγκαταλίπῃς, ἀλλά αὔγασον ψυχήν μου τῷ φωτί σου˙ τό γάρ φῶς σου σύ, ὁ Θεός μου, τυγχάνεις. Εἰ γάρ κέκλησαι πολλοῖς καί διαφόροις τοῖς ὀνόμασιν, ἀλλ᾿ ἕν αὐτός ὑπάρχεις˙ τοῦτο δέ τό ἕν ἄγνωστον πάσῃ φύσει καί ἀόρατον καί ἄφραστον τυγχάνει, ὅ παραδεικνύμενον πάντα καλεῖται. Τοῦτο οὖν τό ἕν τρισυπόστατος φύσις, μία θεότης, μία τε βασιλεία, μία δύναμις, ἕν ἡ Τριάς γάρ πέλει. Τριάς μία γάρ ὁ Θεός μου, οὐ τρία, τρία ὅμως δέ τό ἕν καθ᾿ ὑποστάσεις, ὁμοφυεῖς ἀλλήλαις οὔσας τῇ φύσει, ὁμοδυνάμους ὅλως, ὁμοουσίους, ἀσυγχύτως μέν ὑπέρ νοῦν ἡνωμένας,
