From this, the whole body being as in a whole (366), and the soul itself being incorporeal, and your body will shine like your soul, and the soul, in turn, like the grace that shone, will be flashing, just like God. But if you shrink from imitating the humility of the Creator, the passions and the insults, and you do not consent to undergo these things, whether spiritually, or rather, sensually, you have been left behind—O, the stupidity!—in the gloom and Tartarus of your little flesh, which is corruption - for what else is there, if not death in an immortal vessel? being shut up therefore for ages, deprived of all the good things that are in the light, and of the light itself. For I am not yet speaking of being handed over to fire, the gnashing of teeth, weeping and the worm, but of dwelling as in a jar in the body after the resurrection, as also before it, and from nowhere looking outside nor receiving any light at all within, but lying thus, deprived of all the pleasures of this life and of those to come, as I said before. Let the one who hears, the one who says, therefore say: I do not wish to be inside the incorruptible kingdom nor to enjoy those good things, but only to be outside of punishment and not to have any experience of fire at all. What is the profit to you, when it has come to be, as I have said? Answer me, most wise one, and speak! (367) Will you reckon another punishment to be greater than existing at all? Away with it, for you will say that you alone are then both existing and being punished in torments. For even if you should say that you will then receive a spiritual body, how will a soul be shut up in it as in a jar? Listen, be taught, how this will be! Just as the seed is sown according to its kind—I mean of wheat and of barley and of the others—
