and according to its kind sprouts again, so also the bodies of those who die fall into the earth, such as they happen to be. Therefore the souls, separated from them, in the future resurrection of the dead, each of these finds according to its worth its dwelling place full of light or of darkness. The pure ones, having partaken of light and having lit their own lamps, will certainly be in unwaning light; but the impure, and having the eyes of their heart blind, and full of darkness, how then will they behold the divine radiance? You would say, in no way. Therefore, tell me, who will hear them when they beg after their fate and will open the eyes of these, alas, who willingly did not wish to see nor to light the soul's lamp? Therefore a lightless darkness will await them. But the bodies, as we have said, of the saints also are equally corrupted and decay, (368) but they are raised up, just as they were sown, pure wheat, sanctified wheat, holy vessels of the Holy Spirit; having been most pure indeed, they are raised up again glorified, shining, flashing, like the divine light. The souls of the saints, having dwelt in these, will then shine brighter than the sun and will become like the Master, whose divine laws they kept. But those of the sinners rise up again, just as they too were sown in the earth, filthy, foul-smelling, full of rottenness, profane vessels, tares of wickedness, utterly gloomy as having done the works of darkness and having proved to be instruments of all kinds of evil for the wicked sower; and these too rise up immortal and spiritual, except that they are like darkness. Therefore miserable souls, united with these, these being gloomy and impure,
