Ὡς ἀληθῶς γὰρ ἐκήρυξεν ἐνιαυτὸν κυρίου δεκτόν, τουτέστιν μὴ ἀντιλεγόμενον. τὸν γὰρ πρῶτον ἐνιαυτὸν μετὰ τὸ τριακοστὸν ἔτος τῆς αὐτοῦ ἐνσάρκου παρουσίας ἐκήρυσσε καὶ πάντες κατεδέχοντο, καὶ οὔτε Ἰουδαῖοι ἀντέλεγον οὔτε ἔθνη οὔτε Σαμαρεῖται, ἀλλὰ πάντες ἡδέως ἤκουον αὐτοῦ. ἐν ᾧ ἐνιαυτῷ ἄνεισιν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα, μετὰ τὸ βαπτισθῆναι καὶ διελθεῖν τὰς τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας τοῦ πειρασμοῦ καὶ ἃς προείπαμεν εἴκοσι ἕως τοῦ πρώτου σημείου καὶ ἐκλέξασθαι τοὺς ἑαυτοῦ μαθητάς·
